Erkan Grassland Introduction
Erkan Grassland, with strong sunlight and low rainfall, is not conducive to the growth of shrubs, resulting in the growth of low, wind-resistant grasses around the Erkan settlement on the plateau, creating a flat expanse of greenery, commonly known as Erkan Grassland. The grassland visually resembles a soft green carpet, and in summer, it appears vast and clean; in 2002, a McDonald's advertisement chose to market the desolate "wildly dancing dry grass" under the winter monsoon of Erkan Grassland to the world. The view of Erkan Grassland is far-reaching yet not tiring. The area has a European feel, with agave and daisies dotting the landscape, pointing towards the sky. In summer, visitors occasionally fly kites on the grassland at dusk, enjoying a leisurely atmosphere. During the Japanese occupation, there were 20 yellow cattle raised here, but as the population moved away and farmland was left fallow, only a few old cattle, having forgotten farming, now rest on the grassland. Occasionally, residents from neighboring villages graze cattle here, bringing life back to Erkan Grassland with the sound of cattle. Currently, sheep are also raised here, adding more vitality. The Gangqiao Grassland generally refers to the area between Dakangguo Peak and Lipaitou to the Daguoye columnar basalt. It has never been the core of Erkan's industrial activities but is an essential element in portraying the beauty of Erkan. [Recommended Stay Time] 1 hour
