Tai Ping Temple Introduction
Located on the west bank of Bitan in the Ankang community, "Taiping Temple" is close to Taiping Sports Park and the Air Force Memorial Cemetery. After turning left at Bitan Bridge and following Taiping Road for about 50 meters, you will see it. The temple, a traditional Minnan architecture, enshrines the main deity "Kaizhang Shengwang." Established in the twelfth year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, it has a history of around 200 years. Throughout the years, the temple has undergone several reconstructions due to wars, natural disasters, or damage from insects, and the current Taiping Temple is quite grand and impressive. Nestled on the hillside of Dapingding Mountain by Bitan, Taiping Temple is one of the oldest temples in Xindian and is also one of the more significant and representative temples dedicated to Kaizhang Shengwang among the roughly one hundred temples in Taiwan. With a flourishing incense offering, it has long served as the faith center for the residents of Wuzhangzhuang in Ankang. Every year in the second month of the lunar calendar, the temple fair is spectacular. The temple preserves the Three Treasures of the temple established during the Tongzhi era - the incense burner, the offering table, and the wooden door couplets, which are invaluable.
