Tai Ping Temple Introduction
Taipei Palace, located in the Ankang community on the west bank of Bitan, is near the Taipei Movement Park and the Air Force Memorial Cemetery. After turning left at the Bitan Bridge and along Taiping Road for about 50 meters, you will see it. The traditional Minnan-style building enshrines the main deity, "Kaizhang Shengwang." The temple was built in the 12th year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, with a history of about 200 years. During this time, it has undergone several renovations due to wars, natural disasters, or damage from insects and ants. Today's Taipei Palace is grand and magnificent. Nestled on the hillside of Dapingding Mountain at Bitan, it is one of the oldest temples in Xindian and one of the more significant and representative temples in Taiwan dedicated to Kaizhang Shengwang. With flourishing incense offerings, it has long been a center of faith for the residents of Wuzhangzhuang in Ankang. The temple fair in the second month of the lunar calendar is particularly grand. Inside the palace, there are preserved treasures from the Tongzhi period - a censer, an offering table, and wooden door couplets, which are extremely precious.
