Located in the Ankang Community on the west bank of Bitan, "Tai Ping Temple" is near Tai Ping Movement Park and the Air Force Memorial Cemetery. Turn left at the Bitan Bridge and continue along Tai Ping Road for about 50 meters to see it. The traditional Minnan-style building enshrines the main deity "Kaizhang Shengwang" and was established in the twelfth year of the Jiaqing period during the Qing Dynasty, marking its history of 200 years. Due to wars, natural disasters, and insect damage, it has undergone several renovations, and today's Tai Ping Temple is incredibly majestic. Nestled on the hillside of Dapingding Mountain by Bitan, it is one of the oldest temples in Xindian and is quite large and representative among the hundred or so temples in Taiwan dedicated to Kaizhang Shengwang. It has a prosperous incense offering and has long been the center of faith for the residents of Wuzhang Village in Ankang. Every year in the second month of the lunar calendar, the temple fair is exceptionally grand. The temple preserves three treasured items from the Tongzhi era—incense burners, offering tables, and wooden door couplets, which are invaluable.
