Taipei Palace Introduction
Located in the An-keng community on the west bank of Bitan, the "Taiping Temple" is near the Taiping Sports Park and the Air Force Memorial Park. After turning left at the Bitan Bridge and proceeding along Taiping Road for about 50 meters, you will encounter it. The traditional Minnan architecture houses the main deity, "Kaihsiang Shengwang." Established in the twelfth year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, the temple has a history of approximately 200 years. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations due to wars, natural disasters, or damage caused by pests. Today, the Taiping Temple stands grand and magnificent. Nestled on the slope of Dapingding Mountain near Bitan, it is one of the oldest temples in Xindian and one of the most significant and representative temples dedicated to Kaihsiang Shengwang among the over one hundred in Taiwan. With a strong following, it has long been the center of faith for the residents of Wuzhang Village in An-keng. Every year in the second month of the lunar calendar, the temple fair is exceptionally grand. The temple preserves three precious treasures from the Tongzhi era – the incense burner, the offering table, and the wooden door couplets.
