Sanzhi District Farmers' Association Introduction
In Sanzhi District, yam is in peak season from September to March of the following year. The yams produced by local farmers are not only health food stars in traditional markets but are also loved by health-conscious consumers for their various preparations: eaten raw with dipping sauce, stir-fried, used as soup base, and in hot pot ingredients. The yams cultivated in Sanzhi include the red-skinned, white-fleshed varieties from the Yangmingshan system as well as indigenous species. The Sanzhi Farmers' Association processes the yams into powder, adding granulated sugar, brown sugar, and creating three flavors of yam powder tea drinks: black sesame, milk, and purple rice. This unique, healthy, and low-calorie yam offers a refreshing break from heavy meals, especially with the distinctive and delicate texture of the yam powder, which, when brewed into tea, becomes fragrant and enjoyable for all ages, allowing people to savor health and wellness anytime and anywhere.
