Miyahara Eye Hospital Introduction
Built in 1927, Miyahara Eye Clinic was established by Japanese ophthalmologist Dr. Takekuma Miyahara and was the largest eye clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period. After Japan's defeat in 1945, Dr. Miyahara returned to Japan, and the clinic became the Taichung Health Institute. However, as time passed, the aging health institute gradually fell into disrepair and turned into a ruin overgrown with weeds after the 921 earthquake. It wasn't until the "Sunrise" management team spent one and a half years, in collaboration with two architects and a heritage restoration doctor, that the modern Miyahara Eye Clinic was created. Preserving an old building with historical significance is no easy task, but with the ingenuity and effort of the "Sunrise" team, Taichung's Miyahara Eye Clinic not only retains the ambiance of the old structure but also allows people to feel the emotion of history after its renovation. It is truly an awe-inspiring building, with the translucent glass ceiling naturally bringing in light, making the sunlight beautifully illuminate the interior; the decoration inside is also quite majestic, with the high design reminiscent of scenes from Hogwarts in Harry Potter, and the wooden bookshelves and cabinets creating a unique aesthetic. The retro-packaged pastries are the most popular souvenirs, featuring exquisite packaging and delicious snacks, perfect for both gifting and personal enjoyment! When visiting Miyahara Eye Clinic, do not miss their signature ice creams, which come in various flavors made with unique recipes. If you think only the flavors are special, then you underestimate Miyahara; the toppings next to the ice cream are also impressive, including whole pineapple cakes, cheesecake, almond snowballs, and more—a rich array of ice cream you won't find anywhere else! When in Taichung, how can you not visit Miyahara Eye Clinic for eating and shopping?! Recommended attractions around Miyahara Eye Clinic:
