Liou Hsiu-tz'ai Ancestral Hall Introduction
The ancient house, known as the Liu Family Ancestral House, occupies a vast area of over a thousand ping, featuring more than 70 houses from the Liu family lineage. In gratitude for their ancestors' loyalty and filial piety to the country, the descendants have specially hung Liu Ding-shan's 大關刀 (great sword) used to pacify the indigenous people and his portrait in the main hall, allowing visitors to admire this exceptional individual who dedicated his life to the nation and education. Located in the Waipu District, the Liu Xiucai Ancient House is a significant historical site, representative of the Liu family's ancestral home, once a prominent landholding family. Liu Ding-shan established his foundation here and took care of the education of future generations. The descendants honor their ancestors' contributions, prominently displaying the sword and portrait in the hall, reflecting their commitment to national service and education. This traditional Chinese three-section courtyard is a must-visit for history and photography enthusiasts, providing insight into the lives of Taiwan's early officials and the meanings behind each architectural detail.
