Jiahou Bicycle Path Introduction
The Jiahou Rice Aroma Bicycle Path stretches 21 kilometers, connecting to the Houfeng Bikeway, the Jiahou Line Bicycle Path - the Wangyou Valley Branch, and the Coastal Bicycle Path. Complementing the unique seasonal scenery of Wangyou Valley in Waipu, the bicycle path is adorned with colorful paintings of local crops, including rice, rapeseed flowers planted during fallow periods, daisies, sunflowers, and cosmos, allowing visitors to appreciate local characteristics. At the end of the dedicated bike path, a scenic rest area features a stylized trellis that provides photo opportunities resembling magazine covers, adding more interest to the attraction. The Liufen Road Branch, approximately 5.63 kilometers long, passes through Waipu District and connects to the Yuemei West Road Bicycle Path, forming a circular route with the main Jiahou Road. This area is a major wine grape production zone in Taichung, with numerous wineries along the way, offering a romantic dining experience under the grapevines with seasonal wines to taste. In May, during the tung flower season, biking through the scenic landscapes allows for exploration of the beautiful tung flower paths. The Wangyou Valley Branch is about 12.6 kilometers long, including a 2-kilometer bike path along the top of the embankment. Along the route, cyclists can share the path with trains, enjoying the views of the creek bed and the natural beauty of Wangyou Valley. It ends at the Yuemei Tourist Sugar Factory, with the entire route showcasing agricultural and natural scenery. The views from the Magya embankment offer a comprehensive outlook of the rural creek valley scenery. The vast flower seas and the vibrant sunset are two major attractions of Wangyou Valley, making it very suitable for cycling.
