Chiahau Bike Path Introduction
Jiaohou Rice Field Bicycle Path is 21 kilometers long, connecting to Houfeng Bike Path, Jiaohou Line Bicycle Path - Wangyou Valley Branch, and Coastal Bicycle Path. With the unique seasonal scenery of Wangyou Valley throughout the year, the path features colorful ground paintings depicting local crops, including rice, canola flowers planted during fallow periods, small daisies, sunflowers, and cosmos flowers, allowing visitors to appreciate local characteristics. Additionally, a decorative pavilion has been set up at the end of the dedicated path for rest and scenic viewing, creating a perfect spot for taking photos that resemble magazine covers, enhancing the appeal of the attraction. The Liu Fen Road Branch is approximately 5.63 kilometers long, passing through the Waipu District, connecting to the Yuebmei West Road bicycle path, and linking back to the main Jiaohou Road, forming a loop network. This area is a major grape wine production region in Taichung, with numerous wineries along the route, offering a romantic wine dining experience under the grapevines, allowing visitors to taste seasonal wines. During the May tung blossom season, cyclists can leisurely ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery while exploring the tung blossom trails. The Wangyou Valley Branch is about 12.6 kilometers long, including a 2-kilometer top-of-the-dike bicycle path. Along the way, visitors can share the path with railway tracks, enjoying the scenic views of the creek and the beauty of Wangyou Valley. The endpoint connects to the Yuebmei Tourist Sugar Factory, and the entire route features agricultural and natural landscapes. From the view at the top of the Ciying Dike, one can overlook the rural valley scenery. The grand flower fields and crimson sunsets are the two major attractions of Wangyou Valley, making it very suitable for biking.
