Liyu Fishing Port Introduction
**LiShui Fishing Port** is an excellent destination for enjoying sunsets and bird watching while biking by the sea. Located in the southwesternmost part of Taichung, in the Longjing District, LiShui Fishing Port was originally an old fishing port with a history of over a hundred years. However, due to the influence of the nearby thermal power plant, the fishing industry gradually declined, and hardly any fishing boats come here anymore, leaving only a few inflatable rafts docked. Later, the abandoned coast guard station was cleverly converted into a viewing platform with a Greek-style blue and white theme, and with nearby bike paths, it has become a great place in Taichung for pre-wedding photos, watching sunsets, bird watching, and biking by the sea. LiShui Fishing Port is one of the six major fishing ports in the Greater Taichung area, originally built during the Qing Dynasty in the Qianlong period and located next to the mouth of the Dadu River, making it rich in tidal ecology. During low tide, small crabs and other creatures can be seen in the mudflats. The main bird-watching season is from October to May of the following year, where diverse bird species can be observed. Close to evening, the sunset casts a golden glow over the sea surface, providing a natural beauty that rivals that of Gaomei Wetlands. The enchanting scenery attracts many photographers who specifically come here to admire and capture the views, enjoying a relaxing time by the sea. The viewing platform by the coast features a blue and white architectural style reminiscent of the Mediterranean, complete with arches, fan windows, bells, and heart-shaped railings, creating a strong sense of exotic romance. In this simple fishing village of LiShui, it feels particularly refreshing, making it a favorite among tourists who come to take pictures at the viewing platform or leisurely bike along the coast, enjoying sunsets and the sea breeze, giving LiShui Fishing Port a chance to return to its former glory.
