Lishui Fishing Port Introduction
**Playing Tips** ◼️ A perfect spot for watching sunsets and bird watching, as well as cycling by the sea. Located at the southwestern tip of Taichung in Longjing District, Lishui Fishing Port was originally an old fishing harbor with a history of over a century. However, due to the construction of the nearby coal-fired power plant, the fishing industry has gradually declined, resulting in few boats coming here to fish, with only a small number of rubber rafts remaining. Subsequently, the abandoned coast guard station on the embankment was cleverly transformed into a viewing platform with a Greek-style blue and white theme. Coupled with nearby bicycle paths, it has become a prime location in Taichung for couples to take wedding photos, watch sunsets, observe birds, and cycle by the sea. The Lishui Fishing Port is one of the six major fishing ports in Greater Taichung, originally built during the Qing Dynasty in the Qianlong period, and is adjacent to the mouth of Dadu River, which provides rich tidal ecology. During low tide, one can see small crabs and other creatures in the mudflats. From October to May of the following year, it is the main bird watching season, where diverse bird species can be observed. As evening approaches, the setting sun casts a golden glow over the sea, creating a natural beauty that rivals the scenic Gaomei Wetlands. The picturesque view attracts many outdoor photography enthusiasts who come to appreciate and capture the site, enjoying a leisurely day. The viewing platform on the embankment features a blue and white Mediterranean-like architectural design, complete with arches, fan windows, bells, and heart-shaped railings, creating a strong foreign romantic atmosphere. Amidst the simplicity of Lishui's small fishing village, it is particularly refreshing, making it very popular among tourists who come to take pictures and check in at the viewing platform, or enjoy a relaxing bike ride along the port while watching the sunset and the sea. This revival in popularity gives the once desolate Lishui Fishing Port a chance to return to its former glory.
