Located in Niaosong District, Chengqing Lake covers a vast area, originally a reservoir for irrigation from the Caogong Canal. It is the largest lake in Kaohsiung City, famous for its scenic spots named Sanqiao, Liusheng, and Bajing. The park features a 7-kilometer lakeside trail and a youth activity center, providing a great place for visitors to experience camping and engage in various outdoor sports and games. Walking along the lakeside route, visitors can enjoy the pavilions and structures scattered along the way, while the park's rich natural ecology attracts passing waterfowl, making it a perfect place for birdwatching and enjoying the serene and picturesque scenery. One of the famous sights, Sanqiao: The winding Jiuqu Bridge, 230 meters long, adds beautiful and rich layers to Chengqing Lake with its winding nine-bend structure. As travelers stroll along the bridge to enjoy the lake and mountain views, the white and delicate structure of the bridge reflects on the emerald lake waters, becoming the most charming scenery of Chengqing Lake, especially during the full moon, when the bright moon shadow reflects on the shimmering lake, earning it the beautiful name "Curved Bridge Fishing the Moon," one of the Eight Scenic Views. Overlooking the urban landscape from the Zhongxing Tower while walking along the trail, one can often see the striking Chinese-style high tower. Zhongxing Tower is the tallest structure in Chengqing Lake, with a pure white tower and a red arched top. This seven-story octagonal Chinese pagoda stands out amidst the forests of Chengqing Lake. Inside the tower, there are 169 steps of double-spiral stone stairs, allowing visitors to enjoy not only the beautiful views of the lake area but also a glimpse of the city's tall buildings, with a vague view of the port scenery of Kaohsiung. The Maze Garden, awarded the 2022 Landscape Architecture Yen-Yeh Award, is the largest ecological maze garden in Taiwan. From above, it resembles a pair of mandarin ducks in heart shape, featuring various parent-child adventure facilities inside, making it a recent top choice for family travel. Inspired by the movie "The Lord of the Rings," the Hobbit House allows visitors to experience a dreamlike fairy-tale scene without leaving the country. There is also a colorful pipe maze made up of giant drainage pipes, reaching a height of 120 cm, where children can feel like super Mario from video games and explore freely inside the pipes. Surrounding the pipes is a spacious green area designed for relaxing and dining, connecting visitors to nature, while children can play on the pebble slide and the grassy areas.
