Located in Niaosong District, Chengqing Lake covers a vast area, originally an irrigation pond from the Caogong Canal. It is the largest lake in Kaohsiung City, famous for its sights such as Sanqiao, Liusheng, and Bajing. The area has a 7-kilometer lakeside trail, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful pavilions along the way while appreciating the abundant natural ecology that attracts migratory waterbirds, making it a great place for birdwatching and a peaceful retreat. One of the famous sights, the Jiukui Bridge, is a 230-meter-long bridge with intricate curves, adding beautiful layers to the scenery of Chengqing Lake. As travelers stroll along the bridge, the pure and delicate structure is reflected in the green lake, making it one of Chengqing Lake's most charming views, especially under the moonlight, where the bright moonlight dances on the shimmering lake, earning it the nickname "Moon Fishing on the Curved Bridge" as one of the eight scenic spots. From Zhongxing Tower, visitors can overlook the urban landscape; along the trail, one can often see the striking Chinese-style tall tower. The Zhongxing Tower is the tallest structure in Chengqing Lake, with a white tower body and a red arch top, standing at seven stories, and is a stunning sight amid the sea of trees around Chengqing Lake. Inside the tower, there are 169 steps of a double spiral stone staircase, offering ample views of the beautiful lake area and the urban skyline, with the seaport scenery of Kaohsiung port visible in the distance. The Maze Garden, awarded the 2022 Architectural Landscape Award, is the largest ecological maze garden in Taiwan. Viewed from above, it is shaped like a pair of mandarin ducks in love, and the interior features various family-friendly challenge facilities, making it a top choice for family travel. Inspired by the movie "The Lord of the Rings," the Hobbit House provides a magical fairy tale experience without leaving the country; moreover, the colorful pipe maze made of giant drainage pipes stands 120 cm high, allowing children to feel like they are in a video game, freely exploring within the pipes. Surrounding the pipes is a spacious green area designed for relaxation and dining, where children can enjoy playing on the pebble slide and grassy areas.
