Located in Niaosong District, Cheng Qing Lake covers a vast area and was originally an irrigation pond for the Tsao Kung Canal. It is the largest lake in Kaohsiung City, renowned for its famous attractions: Sanqiao, Liusheng, and Bajing. The area features a 7-kilometer lakeside walking trail, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic pavilions along the route while surrounded by rich natural ecology that attracts passing water birds, making it an ideal place for bird watching and a peaceful vacation spot. One of Sanqiao's attractions is the 230-meter long Nine-Curve Bridge, with its meandering structure adding beautiful layers to the scenery of Cheng Qing Lake. As travelers stroll along the bridge, they admire the reflections of the white bridge in the green lake water, creating one of the most enchanting views of Cheng Qing Lake, especially during a full moon when the moonlight reflects on the shimmering lake, earning it the nickname “Curved Bridge Fishing for the Moon” as one of the eight scenic views. Overlooking the urban landscape from Zhongxing Tower along the pathway, one can frequently see this striking Chinese style tower. The Zhongxing Tower is the tallest structure in Cheng Qing Lake, standing out with its white body and red arch top. This seven-story octagonal Chinese pagoda stands majestically amidst Cheng Qing Lake's forest. Inside the tower, there are 169 steps in a double spiral staircase, allowing visitors not only to take in the lake’s beautiful scenery but also to enjoy views of the urban landscape and slightly glimpse Kaohsiung Port's harbor scenery. The Maze Garden won the Architectural Landscape Award in 2022 and is the largest ecological maze garden in Taiwan. Aerial views reveal a design shaped like two mandarin ducks heart to heart. The interior features various parent-child adventure facilities, making it a popular choice for family travel recently. The Hobbit House inspired by the movie “The Lord of the Rings” allows you to experience a dreamy fairy-tale scene without leaving the country. Additionally, there’s a colorful pipe maze formed by giant drainage pipes, standing 120 centimeters high, where children can feel like they are in a video game, freely exploring inside the pipes. Surrounding the pipes is a spacious green area designed for relaxation and dining, giving children the freedom to play on the pebble slide and grass.
