Located in Niaosong District, Cheng Ching Lake covers a vast area and was originally an irrigation pond of the Caogong Canal. It is the largest lake in Kaohsiung City, famous for its scenic spots such as Sanqiao, Liusheng, and Bajing. The area features a 7-kilometer lakeside walking path, where visitors can enjoy the pavilions and gazebos along the way while walking around the lake and appreciate the rich natural ecology that attracts passing water birds, making it a great place for bird watching and a peaceful retreat to enjoy the pleasant scenery. One of the famous spots, the Jiǔqū Bridge, is a 230-meter-long zigzagging bridge that adds beautiful layers to Cheng Ching Lake. As travelers stroll along the bridge to enjoy the mountain and lake views, the pristine white bridge is reflected in the green waters, creating one of Cheng Ching Lake's most charming scenes. Especially during the full moon, the moonlight reflects on the sparkling lake, earning the name "Moon Fishing on the Curved Bridge" as one of the eight scenic views. Overlooking the urban landscape from the Zhongxing Tower along the walking path, you can spot the prominent Chinese-style tower. Zhongxing Tower is the tallest structure in Cheng Ching Lake, with a white tower body and a red arched top. This seven-story octagonal Chinese pagoda stands out beautifully amidst the forest of Cheng Ching Lake. Inside the tower, there are 169 steps of double spiral stone stairs. Climbing up not only provides a panoramic view of the picturesque lake area but also allows glimpses of the urban skyline and the harbor scenes of Kaohsiung Port. The Maze Garden, awarded the 2022 Landscape Architecture Award, is the largest ecological maze garden in Taiwan, shaped like a pair of mandarin ducks in love when viewed from above. It features various parent-child interactive facilities, making it a popular choice for family travel. Inspired by the movie "The Lord of the Rings," the Hobbit House offers a dreamlike fairytale experience without leaving the country. Additionally, there is a colorful tube maze composed of giant drainage pipes that stand 120 centimeters high, allowing children to feel like they are in a video game as they explore freely within the pipes. Surrounding the pipes is a spacious green area designed for relaxation and dining while getting closer to nature, where children can have fun on the pebble slide and the grass.
