Located in Niaosong District, Chengching Lake covers a vast area and was originally an irrigation pond for Caogong Canal. It is the largest lake in Kaohsiung City, famous for its attractions: Sanqiao, Liusheng, and Bajing. The area features a 7-kilometer lakeside trail, allowing visitors to walk along the route surrounding the lake and enjoy the pavilions and structures along the way. With rich natural ecology, the area attracts migratory waterbirds, making it a great place for birdwatching and enjoying a pleasant, serene retreat. Among the famous sights at Sanqiao is the 230-meter-long Qiujiao Bridge, which adds beautiful and rich layers to Chengching Lake with its winding and intricate design. As travelers stroll across the bridge and admire the lake and mountain scenery, the pure white bridge reflects in the emerald waters, becoming the most charming view of Chengching Lake, especially during a full moon when the moonlight dances on the shimmering water, earning the name of one of the Eight Scenic Views – "Curved Bridge Fishing for the Moon." From the Zhongsing Tower, one can overlook the urban landscape while walking along the trail, where the prominent Chinese-style tall tower can often be seen. Zhongsing Tower is the tallest building at Chengching Lake, with its white tower body and red arched top. The octagonal Chinese pagoda, seven stories high, stands out prominently amidst the tree sea of Chengching Lake. Inside the tower, there are 169 levels of double spiral stone stairs. Climbing up allows one to admire not only the beautiful lake scenery but also glimpse the city skyline, with the port of Kaohsiung and its ships visible in the distance. The Maze Garden won recognition at the 2022 Landscape Architecture Award, becoming the largest ecological maze garden in Taiwan. Viewed from above, it is shaped like a pair of mandarin ducks in love. It features various parent-child interactive facilities, making it a popular choice for family travel recently. Styled after the movie "The Lord of the Rings," the Hobbit House offers a dreamy fairy tale scene without the need to travel abroad. Additionally, there is a colorful pipe maze composed of giant drainage pipes, standing 120 cm high, where children can explore freely like characters in a video game. Surrounding the pipes is a spacious green area designed for relaxation and dining, allowing closeness to nature, with children having fun on the stone slide and grassy areas.
