Niaosong Wetland Introduction
Niaosong Wetland is located in Niaosong District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, covering an area of approximately 3 hectares. It is Taiwan's first educational park themed on artificial wetlands, primarily focused on natural ecology education, with recreation and tourism as supplementary aspects. The wetland is home to 89 bird species, over 270 insect species, and more than 300 plant species, boasting rich and diverse ecological resources. The area is adjacent to the expansive Chengqing Lake and is part of the former sedimentation basin of the water supply company, making it an excellent outdoor ecological education site. Every weekend, there are ecological explanation activities, and along the wooden boardwalk, visitors can observe mallards, common gallinules, and little egrets leisurely wandering in the wetland waters.
