Niaosong Wetland Introduction
Niaosong Wetland is located in Niaosong District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, covering an area of approximately 3 hectares. It is Taiwan's first educational park themed around artificial wetlands, primarily focused on natural ecology education with recreational tourism as a supplementary aspect. The wetland is home to 89 species of birds, over 270 species of insects, and more than 300 species of plants, possessing rich and diverse ecological resources. The area is adjacent to the vast Chengcing Lake and was formerly part of a sedimentation basin for the water company, making it an excellent outdoor ecological teaching location. Every weekend, there are ecological guided activities, and along the wooden walkway, visitors can observe species such as Mallards, Purple Swamphens, and Little Egrets swimming leisurely in the wetland waters.
