Chating Old Trail Introduction
In the past, Dashingbei was the only route for the ancestors to transport agricultural products to the urban area of Hengshan Township. Life in the remote mountainous area was tough, and making a living was not easy. There is a Hakka song sung locally that goes: "If you have a sister, don't let her marry Dashingbei; carry burdens uphill and downhill," which signifies the hardships of those who used to carry loads back and forth along the ancient road.
