Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction
At 20.8K on Provincial Highway 118 in Hsinchu County, near the sections of Xinfu and Guanxi, Gao Ping Tomato Farm focuses on the selection of various new breeds of delicious and healthy first-class agricultural products such as tomatoes and sweet peppers. This farm is certified by the Taiwan Agricultural Products Quality Assurance (TAPQA) program, ensuring that the freshly harvested fruits are worry-free for consumption. To facilitate fruit-picking, the farm operates in two locations: Gao Ping No. 1 (formerly Gao Ping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is located in Datong Village, Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, about 2 kilometers from the Guanxi Interchange towards Xinfu, while Gao Ping No. 2 (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guanxi Township (19.8K on Provincial Highway 118), with a significantly larger growing area than Gao Ping No. 1. The tomato and colorful sweet pepper harvest season runs from October to May of the following year, with prices based on weight. Visitors picking fruit on weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly opened Gao Ping No. 2, where they can enjoy a more spacious picking area and modern facilities. Among the favorite types of fruit for visitors at Gao Ping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, as well as red and yellow cherry tomatoes, all of which are very sweet and tasty. The tomatoes are grown in greenhouses using specially imported soil from the Netherlands. This soil not only needs to be changed each year but also incurs higher costs, with a more complex cultivation method. Even outside harvest season, various horticultural management tasks must be carried out, such as soil maintenance and cleaning. However, this meticulous process allows the farm to exceed the quality of traditionally cultivated tomatoes, elevating both production and sales quality, ensuring juicy and flavorful fresh fruits that promote a healthier and more natural diet. Additionally, the farm offers visitors tastings at the store and home delivery services with phone reservations. There are also areas for selling agricultural specialty products, as well as a series of parent-child activities such as painting DIY, making rice cakes, and more. Both the farm's operations and recreational offerings are worth experiencing in person. The orchard employs greenhouse cultivation, growing many different delicious, safe, and healthy varieties of tomatoes, along with colorful sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables. This provides consumers with the freshest pickings and offers the joy of hand-picking tomatoes, making it a perfect activity for families to enjoy together. Experience activities: Apart from picking tomatoes, the farm also offers tomato baby painting DIY, Hakka Lei Cha, and mochi DIY. Fresh tomatoes: priced between 60-100 NTD per Jin; Painting DIY: 100-200 NTD; Lei Cha: 150 NTD per serving; Mochi DIY: 130 NTD per serving.
