Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction
Located on Taiwan Route 118 at 20.8K in Hsinchu County, near Xinpu and Guansi, Gaoping Tomato Farm specializes in a variety of freshly selected, delicious, and healthy agricultural products including premium tomatoes and sweet peppers. This farm is a certified growing area by the Taiwan Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), ensuring that the freshly harvested fruits are safe to eat. To facilitate fruit picking, the farm operates in two locations; Gaoping Stage One (originally Gaoping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is located in Datong Village, Guansi Township, about 2 kilometers from the Guansi interchange towards Xinpu, sitting on the right side of the elevated road, covering an area of about one hectare. Gaoping Stage Two (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guansi Township (118 Line 19.8K), with a much larger planting area compared to Stage One. The harvest season for tomatoes and colored sweet peppers at both farms is from October each year to May of the following year, priced by weight. Visitors picking fruit during weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly opened Gaoping Stage Two for a more spacious picking environment and innovative equipment and services. Among the fruits most loved by visitors at Gaoping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, along with red and yellow cherry tomatoes, which are very sweet and tasty. They are grown in greenhouses using specially imported Dutch soil for cultivation. This soil not only needs to be replaced every year but is also costly, and the cultivation method is more complicated. Even during non-harvest seasons, various gardening management tasks such as soil environment maintenance and cleaning must be carried out, ensuring that the tomatoes grown surpass the quality of traditionally cultivated ones. The strict quality control enhances production and sales quality, making the fresh fruits juicy, delicious, and healthier. In addition to offering tasting samples at the storefront, the farm also provides delivery services upon phone reservation and has set up a special product exhibition area, DIY painting, and activities such as making traditional rice cakes… a series of family-friendly events that are worth experiencing. The orchards are entirely greenhouse-cultivated, growing many different varieties of delicious, safe, and healthy tomatoes, as well as colorful sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables, providing consumers with the freshest picked flavors. The joy of hand-picking tomatoes is perfect for families to enjoy together. Activity offerings: In addition to fresh tomato picking, the farm also provides DIY tomato baby painting, Hakka ground tea, and rice cake DIY. Pricing: Freshly picked tomatoes: NT$60-100 per斤, Painting DIY: NT$100-200, Ground tea: NT$150 per serving, Rice cake DIY: NT$130 per serving.
