Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction

Gao Ping Tomato Farm, located at 20.8K on County Road 118 in Hsinchu County, near Xinpu and Guanxi, primarily operates as a fruit-picking farm featuring a selection of the latest varieties of delicious and healthy premium agricultural products, including tomatoes and sweet peppers. It is a certified growing area through the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification, ensuring that the freshly picked fruits provide peace of mind for visitors. To facilitate fruit picking, the farm is divided into two locations; Gao Ping No. 1 Farm (originally Gao Ping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is situated in Datong Village, Guanxi Township, approximately 2 kilometers from the Guanxi interchange towards Xinpu on the right side, covering an area of about 0.1 hectares. Gao Ping No. 2 Farm (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guanxi Township (19.8K on County Road 118), with a much larger cultivation area than Gao Ping No. 1 Farm. The harvest season for tomatoes and colorful sweet peppers at both locations spans from October to May of the following year, priced by weight. Visitors picking fruits on weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly established Gao Ping No. 2 Farm to enjoy a more spacious picking area and modern facilities. Among the favorite fruits for visitors at Gao Ping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes and two varieties of cherry tomatoes, which are both incredibly sweet and delicious. They are grown in greenhouses using specially imported Dutch soil. This soil not only needs to be changed annually, which incurs higher costs, but the cultivation process is more complex. Even during the off-season, various gardening management tasks need to be carried out, such as soil environment maintenance and cleaning. However, this meticulous approach enables the tomatoes grown to surpass the quality of those from traditional cultivation methods, enhancing the production and sales quality, ensuring the fresh fruits are both juicy and flavorful, promoting a healthier and more natural eating experience. Additionally, the farm provides visitors with tasting opportunities at the storefront and offers telephone reservation services for home delivery. There are also showcases for agricultural specialty products, DIY painting activities, sticky rice cake making, and a series of parent-child activities. Whether for farm operations or leisure content, a visit is highly worthwhile to experience firsthand. The orchards are all grown in greenhouses, cultivating many different varieties of delicious, safe, and healthy tomatoes, as well as colorful sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables. Freshly picked flavors are provided to consumers, and the joy of hand-picking tomatoes is perfect for families to participate together. Experience activities: In addition to picking tomatoes, the farm also offers DIY painting activities, Hakka Lei Tea, and sticky rice cake making. Current prices for fresh-picked tomatoes are between NT$60-100 per pound, DIY painting costs NT$100-200, a serving of Lei Tea is NT$150, and a serving of sticky rice cake making is NT$130.
