Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction

On Highway 118 at 20.8K in Hsinchu County, near Xinpu and Guanxi, Gao Ping Tomato Farm is a fruit-picking farm that specializes in carefully selected, delicious, and healthy first-class agricultural products such as the latest varieties of tomatoes and sweet peppers. It is a certified cultivation area by Jiyuanpu, ensuring freshness and peace of mind for visitors. To facilitate fruit picking, it operates in two locations; Gao Ping One (originally Gao Ping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is located in Datong Village, Guanxi Township, about 2 kilometers from the Guanxi interchange heading towards Xinpu, on the right side above a bank; it has a cultivation area of about 0.1 hectares. Gao Ping Two (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guanxi Township (118 Line 19.8K), with a much larger cultivation area than Gao Ping One. The tomatoes and colorful sweet peppers of both farms are in season from October to May of the following year and are priced by weight. Visitors picking fruit on weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly opened Gao Ping Two to enjoy a more spacious picking area and innovative service facilities. Among the most popular fruits for visitors at Gao Ping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, as well as red and yellow cherry tomatoes, known for their sweetness and deliciousness. The farm employs greenhouse soil cultivation, using specially imported soil from the Netherlands; not only must the soil be replaced annually, but it is also costlier and involves more complex cultivation methods. Even outside the harvest season, various horticultural maintenance tasks such as soil environment management and cleaning must be carried out. However, this rigorous process allows the cultivated tomatoes to surpass the quality of traditionally grown tomatoes, enhancing the production and sales quality with better assurances. The juicy and flavorful fresh fruits offer a more healthful and natural eating experience. Additionally, the farm provides tasting samples at its storefront and offers telephone reservation delivery services, as well as a special exhibit area for agricultural products, DIY painting sessions, mochi making, and a series of parent-child activities. Whether experiencing the operations or leisure activities of the farm, it is worthwhile to visit in person. The orchards are all cultivated in greenhouses, growing many different varieties of tasty, safe, and healthy tomatoes, as well as colorful sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables to provide consumers with the freshest produce. Picking tomatoes by hand is a fun activity perfect for families to join together. Experience activities: In addition to picking tomatoes, the farm also offers DIY painting for tomato babies, Hakka Lei Tea, and mochi making. Prices: Freshly picked tomatoes: NT$60-100 per jin; DIY painting: NT$100-200; Lei Tea: NT$150 per serving; Mochi DIY: NT$130 per serving.
