Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction

On Highway 118, 20.8 kilometers in Hsinchu County, near Xinpu and Guanxi, Gao Ping Tomato Farm specializes in a variety of carefully selected, delicious, and healthy first-class agricultural products such as tomatoes and bell peppers. It is a certified farm area through the Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) certification, ensuring that the freshly harvested fruits provide peace of mind to consumers. To facilitate fruit picking, the farm operates in two locations. Gao Ping First Farm (formerly Gao Ping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is located in Datong Village, Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, about 2 kilometers to the right after passing the Guanxi Interchange heading towards Xinpu, with a planting area of about 0.1 hectares. Gao Ping Second Farm (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County (at 19.8K on Highway 118), with a much larger planting area compared to Gao Ping First Farm. Both farms' tomatoes and colorful bell peppers are harvested from October each year to May of the following year, and are sold by weight. Visitors picking fruits on weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly established Gao Ping Second Farm to enjoy a more spacious picking area and innovative service facilities. Among the types of fruit picking that visitors love most at Gao Ping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, as well as the sweet red and yellow cherry tomatoes. The farm uses soil cultivation in greenhouses, employing specially imported soil from the Netherlands for planting. The soil not only needs to be replaced every year, but also incurs higher costs and involves more complex cultivation methods. Even during off-peak seasons, various horticultural management tasks such as soil maintenance and cleanliness must be carried out. However, this meticulous approach allows the farm to produce tomatoes with a taste that surpasses that of traditionally grown tomatoes, ensuring higher quality and reliability in its production and sales. The fresh fruits are not only juicy and delicious but also promote healthier and more natural eating. In addition, the farm offers tasting samples at its store, as well as telephone orders for home delivery. It has also set up an area to showcase and sell special agricultural products, DIY painting activities, making mochi, and a series of parent-child activities. Both the farm's operations and recreational offerings are well worth experiencing in person. The orchard uses greenhouse cultivation to grow many different varieties of delicious, safe, and healthy tomatoes. Beyond tomatoes, the farm also grows colorful bell peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables, providing consumers with the freshest taste from direct harvesting. The joy of picking tomatoes by hand is perfect for families to participate together. Experience activities: In addition to picking tomatoes, the farm offers DIY painting of tomato babies, Hakka pestle tea, and DIY mochi making. Prices are as follows: Freshly picked tomatoes: 60 to 100 TWD per jin; DIY painting: 100 to 200 TWD; Hakka pestle tea: 150 TWD per serving; DIY mochi: 130 TWD per serving.
