Gaoping Tomato Farm Introduction

Gao Ping Tomato Farm, located at the 20.8K mark of County Road 118 in Hsinchu County, near Xinpu and Guanshi, specializes in various carefully selected, delicious, and healthy top-grade agricultural products such as tomatoes and sweet peppers. It is a certified cultivation area through the Agricultural Certification System, ensuring that the freshly picked fruits can be enjoyed with peace of mind. To facilitate fruit picking, the farm is divided into two operational sections; Gao Ping No. 1 Farm (the original Gao Ping Farm, currently open only on weekends) is located in Datong Village, Guanshi Township, approximately 2 kilometers to the right after the Guanshi Interchange heading towards Xinpu, covering an area of about one hectare. Gao Ping No. 2 Farm (open daily during the harvest season) is located in Shiguang Village, Guanshi Township (118 Line 19.8K), and is significantly larger than Gao Ping No. 1 Farm. The tomatoes and colorful sweet peppers from both farms are in season from October to May of the following year, priced by weight. Visitors picking fruits on weekdays are encouraged to visit the newly established Gao Ping No. 2 Farm for a more spacious picking area and modern service facilities. The most popular picking varieties among tourists at Gao Ping Farm are the large and beautiful Momotaro tomatoes, along with two types of small tomatoes, red and yellow, known for their sweetness. They use greenhouse soil cultivation, specifically employing imported Dutch soil for planting; this soil must be replaced annually and involves high costs, making the cultivation method more complex. Even off-season, various horticultural management tasks must be carried out, such as soil environment maintenance and cleaning. This meticulous approach results in tomatoes that surpass the quality of traditionally grown tomatoes. Stringent quality control enhances the assurance and quality of production and sales, yielding fruits that are not only juicy and delicious but also promote healthier and more natural eating. In addition to offering tastings at the retail store, the farm provides telephone ordering and delivery services, along with an exhibition area for agricultural specialties, painting DIY activities, rice cake making, and a series of family-friendly events. Whether it’s the farm management or leisure activities, a visit to experience is worthwhile. The orchard employs greenhouse cultivation for many different varieties of delicious, safe, and healthy tomatoes, alongside colored sweet peppers, corn, cucumbers, and seasonal vegetables, offering consumers the freshest taste. The joy of hand-picking tomatoes is perfect for the whole family to participate in. Experience activities include not only fresh tomato picking but also DIY painting of tomato babies, Hakka Lei Cha, and rice cake making. Freshly picked tomatoes are priced between 60 to 100 NTD per pound, painting DIY ranges from 100 to 200 NTD, Lei Cha costs 150 NTD per serving, and rice cake DIY is 130 NTD per serving.
