Guanshi Township Farmers' Association Grass Jelly Processing Factory Introduction
In recent years, Guansi Township, famous for its grass jelly, has allowed the gradually declining agricultural production to find a unique second spring. Currently, grass jelly is cultivated in Guansi Township and Xianglin Township of Hsinchu County, as well as in Tongluo and Sanyi in Miaoli County, Xinhua Township in Taoyuan City, and Fenglin Township in Hualien County. Grass jelly is a native Taiwanese plant that resembles small, green mint leaves and has a slightly fuzzy texture. It is typically planted from March to April each year and harvested when mature in September to October. Among these regions, Guansi Township has the largest planting area. With the guidance and improvement of processing techniques by the Taoyuan Agricultural Improvement Station, a variety of grass jelly products have been developed.
