Guanxi Township Farmers' Association Grass Jelly Factory Introduction

In recent years, Guanxi Township, known for its grass jelly, has allowed the gradually declining agricultural production to find a unique second spring. Currently, grass jelly is cultivated in Guanxi Township and Xiulin Township of Hsinchu County, Dongluo and Sanyi of Miaoli County, Xinwu Township of Taoyuan City, and Fenglin Township of Hualien County. Grass jelly is a small, bright green, slightly hairy native plant of Taiwan that resembles mint leaves. It is planted from March to April each year and harvested when it matures in September to October of the same year. However, Guanxi Township has the largest planting area, and with guidance from the Taoyuan Agricultural Improvement Station, improvements in processing technology have led to the development of various grass jelly products.
