Guanshi Township Farmers' Association Grass Jelly Processing Plant Introduction
In recent years, Guanxi Township, renowned for its grass jelly, has allowed the declining agricultural production to find its most distinctive second spring. Currently, grass jelly is cultivated in Guanxi Township and Xianglin Township in Hsinchu County, as well as in Tongluo, Sanyi in Miaoli County, Xinxhu Township in Taoyuan City, and Fenglin Township in Hualien County. Grass jelly is a native Taiwanese plant that resembles small mint leaves, with a slightly fuzzy green appearance. It is typically planted from March to April each year and harvested when mature in September to October of the same year. However, Guanxi Township has the largest cultivation area, and with the guidance of the Taoyuan Agricultural Improvement Station, various grass jelly products have been developed through improved processing techniques.
