Guanshi Township Agricultural Association Grass Jelly Factory Introduction

In recent years, Guanxi Township, famous for its wax gourd, has found a way to revitalize its declining agricultural production by focusing on its unique specialty. Currently, wax gourd is cultivated in Guanxi Township and Xianglin Township in Hsinchu County, as well as in Tongluo and Sanyi in Miaoli County, Xinhua Township in Taoyuan, and Fenglin Township in Hualien. Wax gourd is a small, green, slightly hairy native plant of Taiwan, resembling mint leaves. It is planted annually from March to April and harvested when mature in September to October. However, Guanxi Township has the largest cultivation area, and with guidance from the Taoyuan Agricultural Improvement Station, improvements in processing techniques have led to the development of various wax gourd products.
