Guanshi Township Farmers' Association Grass Jelly Processing Factory Introduction
In recent years, Guanshi Township, known for its sweet grass, has allowed the declining agricultural production to find its most distinctive second spring. Currently, sweet grass is grown in Guanshi Township and Xianglin Township in Hsinchu County, as well as in Tongluo, Sanyi in Miaoli County, Xinwu Township in Taoyuan City, and Fenglin Township in Hualien County. Sweet grass is a small, lush green native plant of Taiwan that resembles mint leaves and has a slightly fuzzy texture. Sweet grass is planted from March to April each year and harvested when mature from September to October of the same year. However, Guanshi Township has the largest planting area, and with improvements in processing technology guided by the Taoyuan Agricultural Research and Extension Station, various sweet grass products have been developed.
