Shih Er Liao Leisure Agricultural Area Introduction
The "Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Park" located in Emei Township, Hsinchu County, lies within the Shitoushan National Scenic Area. The farm owner, Mr. Huang, originally worked in manufacturing, and the operation of the leisure farm began with agricultural production groups followed by his father. After returning home for six years and mastering the skills, he shifted the business focus to leisure agriculture at the end of 2001, transitioning from mass production to refined agriculture, planting in a diverse and smaller quantity. Seasonal harvesting of various fruits and vegetables satisfies visitors' desires for picking. It offers unique agricultural leisure activities and serves as an excellent destination for urban dwellers seeking a new experience and group leisure activities. Shierliao is named after the 12th camphor oil distillation plant during the Japanese occupation. There are approximately 40 businesses in the area, about 10 bike rental shops, and a total of around 800 to 900 bicycles available. Bicycles can navigate through ponds, reservoirs, suspension bridges, and trails, making it the best choice for cycling enthusiasts due to the diverse terrain. Along the shores of Emei Lake, visitors are greeted with endless mountain and lake views, complemented by well-planned bike routes. Travelers arriving at Shierliao are recommended to first explore the Shierliao hiking trail, where one can encounter various insects, butterflies, and birds in the morning, making it an opportunity for an ecological journey; this gentle and well-designed leisure path is suitable for travelers of all ages.
