Shih Er Liao Leisure Agricultural Area Introduction
The "Shih'erliao Leisure Farm" in Emei Township, Hsinchu County is located within the Shei-Pa National Park scenic area. Nearby, there are maple tree trails, parking lots, bike paths around the lake, and health trails rich in phytoncide. The farm owner, Mr. Huang, ventured into the manufacturing industry in his early years and started the leisure farm business following his father, beginning with agricultural production and marketing classes. After returning home for six years to gain experience, he shifted the focus of operations to leisure agriculture by the end of 2001, evolving from mass production to refined agriculture, aiming for diversification with small quantities. Throughout the seasons, visitors can enjoy various fruits and vegetables picking, making it a unique leisure farm experience and an excellent destination for urban dwellers and group leisure activities. Shih'erliao derives its name from the 12th camphor oil distillation site during the Japanese occupation period. There are about 40 businesses in the area, with around 10 bike rental shops offering approximately 800 to 900 bicycles. Bicycles can navigate through ponds, reservoirs, suspension bridges, and winding paths, making it an ideal choice for cycling enthusiasts due to its diverse terrain and landscape. Along the shores of Emei Lake, visitors can enjoy splendid mountain lake views and well-planned cycling routes. Travelers arriving at Shih'erliao are advised to first explore the Shih'erliao Hiking Trail, which, in the morning, features a variety of insects, butterflies, and birds, offering a chance for an ecological adventure; the gentle and well-maintained leisure trail is suitable for travelers of all ages.
