Emei Lake Introduction
Located at the junction of Fuxing Village and Huguang Village in Emei Township, Hsinchu County, Emei Lake features a broad and beautiful landscape of lake and mountains. It is also home to the Dapu Reservoir, the first reservoir designed and constructed by Taiwanese. This area is rich in natural resources and cultural vibes. In the past, to facilitate transportation for local residents, five suspension bridges were built across Emei Lake. Although only one bridge, the Ximaopu Suspension Bridge, remains, connecting the Shierliao Leisure Park with Fuxing Old Street, the bridge tower decorated with wutong flowers and the view of Emei Lake from the bridge have become iconic sights and a must-visit for travelers. Upon arriving at Emei Lake, visitors can not only overlook the lake's beauty from the suspension bridge but also enjoy the serene environment along the lakeside trail, where they can observe waterbird ecosystems such as egrets and night herons. The blooming of yellow-flowered tabebuia in March and April, as well as the sight of cormorants migrating in autumn and winter, are particularly beautiful. To express gratitude to the local gentleman Mr. Yu Jinkui for his assistance in constructing the trail, there is a section called "Mr. Yu's Bridge" along the way. Explore more attractions around Emei Lake, where there are many worthwhile sites to savor, including the Maitreya Buddha at the World of Nature and Culture, Fuxing Old Street which preserves traces of past tea production, as well as the Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Area and the Shierliao Hiking Trail, all of which are worth visiting after exploring Emei Lake.
