Qubing Site Introduction

The Qubing Ruins are located in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, along the upstream of the Zhuoshui River, at an altitude of approximately 700 to 900 meters. Covering an area of over 9,000 square meters, the site is believed to be a settlement left by the Bunan people who migrated elsewhere due to land impoverishment, reflecting their nomadic lifestyle. It has been designated as a third-level historic site. Archaeologists discovered prehistoric stone tools and pottery shards of archaeological value in the Qubing village, as well as the most well-preserved slate ruins. Based on the unearthed stone tools, the Qubing Ruins culture dates back approximately 1,500 to 2,000 years, belonging to the Iron Age cultural phase.
