Dajia Wharf Introduction
Dajia Wharf is located on the left bank of the Keelung River in Yuanshan. Yuanshan, formerly known as Yuanzai Mountain, is the leading site of the Dalongdong terrain. Due to the passage of the Keelung River, it used to be a wetland area where seawater flowed in and out. The excavated Yuanshan site and shell mounds provide evidence of the living sites of early settlers. Adjacent to Yuanshan is the area of Jiantan, named after the legend of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong) using a sword to draw water from the pond. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese built the Taiwan Shrine and the Imperial Garden west of the Martyrs’ Shrine next to the current Yuanshan Hotel, highlighting the importance of this geographical location. Dajia Wharf is located on the southern bank of the Keelung River, about 200 meters west of the Dazhi Bridge. It serves as a yacht dock for the "Blue Waterway," offering two routes for round trips from Dajia to Yuanshan and from Dajia to the Neihu Science Park.
