Dream Lake Introduction
Dream Lake is located on the southeastern slope of Qixing Mountain, at an elevation of about 860 meters. The exact formation cause is still unclear; it may be a crater lake or a depression due to gas vents or volcanic subsidence. A rare aquatic fern, Taiwan Water Celery, grows in the lake, making it one of the few areas in the world with such a low latitude for the species. This plant is extremely rare, and to protect this national treasure, Dream Lake has been designated as an ecological protection area. General visitors are prohibited from entering the lake area, but a platform is provided nearby for scenic views. The area experiences little rain in autumn and winter, and the lake often dries up, while in spring and summer, frequent rains can cause the lake to overflow. When shrouded in mountain mist, the lake, the mountain reflections, and the clouds create a dreamy and surreal景象. The route goes through Yangmingshan Bus Terminal -> Visitor Center -> Lengshuikeng Station → Dream Lake → Qixing Park → Visitor Center Station.
