Dream Lake Introduction
Dream Lake is located on the southeast slope of Qixing Mountain, with an elevation of about 860 meters. The formation of the lake is not yet clearly understood; it may be a caldera lake or may have been caused by water accumulation in a depression formed by a gas vent or a volcanic subsidence. The lake is home to a rare aquatic fern called Taiwan Water Plantain, which grows at a very low latitude in the world. This plant is extremely rare, and to protect this national treasure, Dream Lake has been designated as an ecological conservation area. General visitors are prohibited from entering the lake area, but a platform is set up nearby for sightseeing. During the fall and winter, rainfall is sparse, and the lake's surface often dries up. However, in spring and summer, it rains heavily, and after the rainy season or during a downpour, the lake can be seen overflowing. When shrouded in mountain mist, the lake's color and the mountain's reflection in the fog create a dreamy and surreal landscape.
