Qingtiangang Introduction
Qingtiangang, also known as Sun Valley, is located in the center of the Datun Mountain range, situated between Zhuzi Mountain, Qigu Mountain, and Ding Mountain, as well as Huanzui Mountain. The area is flat, formed by the terraced lava of Zhuge Mountain. During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese established the Dalingzhi Ranch here for tea cultivation and grazing. After Taiwan's retrocession, the government set up the Yangmingshan Ranch based on the original Dalingzhi Ranch plan, including the Qingtiangang and Lengshuikeng areas. After Taipei City was upgraded to a municipality, this ranch came under the management of the Taipei City Farmers' Association. Today, Qingtiangang is home to grazing cattle, cared for by farmers from Beitou, Shilin, and Jinshan. With its flat terrain and expansive grasslands, Qingtiangang serves as an excellent natural classroom for observing grassland landscapes. The verdant rolling grass slopes and low-growing shrub pathways create a memorable impression, making it one of the most popular destinations for outdoor activities in Yangmingshan National Park.
