Qingtiangang Introduction
Qingtiangang, also known as Sun Valley, is located in the center of the Datun Mountain range, surrounded by Zhugao Mountain, Qigu Mountain, and Ding Mountain, as well as Huanzui Mountain. The terrain is flat, formed by the terrace created from the lava of Zhugao Mountain. During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese established the Dalingzhi Ranch here for tea planting and grazing purposes. After Taiwan's retrocession, the government set up the Yangmingshan Ranch based on the original Dalingzhi Ranch's planning in the Qingtiangang and Lengshuikeng areas. After Taipei City was upgraded to a municipality, this ranch came under the management of the Taipei Farmers' Association. Now, at Qingtiangang, one can see grazing cattle, which are cared for by farmers from Beitou, Shilin, Jinshan, and other areas. With its flat terrain and rolling grasslands, Qingtiangang serves as a natural classroom for observing prairie landscapes. The verdant grassy slopes and the rounded, low bushes along the trails leave a deep impression, making it the most popular destination for a stroll in Yangmingshan National Park.
