Zhongao Beach Introduction
Located on the northeast side of Liuqiu Island, it is an ideal spot for swimming, playing, fishing, and other coastal recreational activities, being one of the main natural beaches on Liuqiu Island. The intertidal and subtidal zones in this area are formed by coral reefs and shell fragments, creating a banded shell sand beach. On the left side, there is a spacious gazebo facing the sea, and on the right, a protruding coastal embankment serves as a fishing area for anglers, who are often seen with fish baskets containing various kinds of marine fish and tropical fish. In this area, one can observe intertidal creatures such as hermit crabs, mudskippers, loaches, and mollusks in the tidal pools. Zhongao Beach is also one of the recommended water activity spots by locals, with its gentle coastline being much safer than other coastlines on Liuqiu Island. The romantic scenery of blue seas and skies attracts many visitors who come with family and friends to enjoy the area, and in recent years, it has become a popular location for wedding photography. The "Water Inviting" ritual, part of the Wang Ping An Festival held once every three years, also takes place here.
