Juguang Tourist Center Introduction
Juguang Township, formerly known as Baiken, gets its name from the Fuzhou dialect where "ken" sounds like "dog," leading to the name Baigou, meaning "white dog." The island's two mountains resemble two small dogs lying on the sea, hence East Island is called Dongqian Island and West Island is called Xiqian Island. In 1971, it was renamed Juguang Township, reflecting the sentiment of "Do not forget in Juguang," and the islands were renamed Dongju and Xiju. The Juguang Visitor Center is located next to the Fuzheng settlement on Dongju Island. The visitor center's exterior, designed in the style of Eastern Fujian architecture, blends seamlessly with the surrounding lighthouse and stone houses, making it a unique building that has the ambiance of a resort. With a view of both the sea and the mountains, sitting in the visitor center to relax and read travel materials becomes an enjoyable experience. The interior of the visitor center offers a place to watch introductory videos and provides consultation for recreational information. Additionally, there is the Fuzheng Blue Tears Station nearby, where visitors can take a break and enjoy local dishes like mussels and red fermented chicken. If you get the chance to visit Juguang, don't miss this stop!
