Juguang Tourist Center Introduction
Juguang Township, formerly known as Baiken, gets its name from the phonetic resemblance of "Ken" in Fuzhou dialect to "dog," thus also being called Baigou. The two islands are shaped like two small dogs lying on the sea, hence East Island is called Dongquandao and West Island is called Xiquandao. In 1971, it was renamed Juguang Township, taking the meaning of "Do not forget in Juguang," and has since been referred to as Dongju and Xiju. The Juguang Visitor Center is located next to the Fuzheng settlement on Dongju Island. The visitor center, designed in a style reminiscent of Eastern Fujian architecture, integrates beautifully with the surrounding lighthouse and stone houses, making it a distinctive building resembling a resort. With views of both the sea and mountains, resting at the visitor center while reading travel materials becomes a delightful experience. Inside the visitor center, visitors can watch introduction videos and obtain playing information. Nearby is the Fuzheng Blue Tears Station, where visitors can relax and taste local delicacies such as mussels and red rice chicken. If you have the chance to visit Juguang, don't miss this stop!
