Juguang Tourist Center Introduction
Juguang Township, formerly known as Baiken, is named after the resemblance of the word "ken" in Fuzhou dialect to "dog," leading to its alternative name, Baigou (White Dog). The two islands are said to resemble two small dogs lying on the surface of the sea, thus the eastern island is called Donggou Island and the western island is called Xigou Island. In 1971, it was renamed Juguang Township, meaning "do not forget Juguang," and the islands were renamed Dongju and Xiju. The Juguang Visitor Center is located next to the Fuzheng settlement on Dongju Island. The visitor center features an exterior design resembling Eastern Fujian architecture, blending harmoniously with the surrounding lighthouse and stone houses, creating a unique and resort-like atmosphere. With picturesque views of the sea and mountains, resting at the visitor center while reading travel materials is truly enjoyable. Inside the visitor center, visitors can watch informative videos and receive consultation on play options. Next to it, there is the Fuzheng Blue Tears Station, where tourists can relax and taste local specialties such as clams and red rice chicken. If you get a chance to visit Juguang, don't miss this stop!
