Juguang Tourist Center Introduction
Juguang Township, formerly known as Baikeng, derives its name from the Fuzhou dialect's homophone for "dog," and is also referred to as "White Dog." The two islands’ mountainous shapes resemble two small dogs lying on the sea, hence East Island is known as Dog Island East and West Island as Dog Island West. In 1971, it was renamed Juguang Township, meaning "do not forget the sacrifice at Juguang," and East Juguang and West Juguang were established. The Juguang Visitor Center is located beside the Fuzheng settlement on East Juguang Island. The visitor center's appearance mimics the architecture of Eastern Fujian, seamlessly blending with the surrounding lighthouse and stone houses. It is a distinctive building that exudes a resort-like atmosphere, complete with ocean and mountain views. Relaxing at the visitor center while reading travel information becomes a delightful experience. Inside the visitor center, visitors can not only watch introductory videos but also obtain information about activities. Additionally, there is a Fuzheng "Blue Tears" Rest Station nearby, where visitors can take a break and taste local specialties such as clams and red yeast chicken. If you have the opportunity to visit Juguang, don't miss this stop!
