Catholic Church of Dili Village Introduction

Dili Village, like other Bunun tribes, practices either Christianity or Catholicism, and the village has places of worship for both denominations. The Catholic Church in Dili Village has been established for over 50 years. It is said that over 80% of the villagers in their 30s and 40s were born in a flat-roofed building above the church, delivered by nuns; this is considered a fascinating record in Taiwan. The church, built of red bricks, is located on a green lawn adorned with trees and flowers, simple yet exuding a sense of tranquility and stability that makes visitors unconsciously slow down and be respectful. Near the church, there is an herb garden; in addition to being used as an ingredient for dishes and pastries, the nuns guide local women in making herbal sachets for sale to increase the villagers' income. Below the church, there is a basketball court, which serves as a place for the athletic indigenous youth to spend many memorable teenage years.
