Dili Village Catholic Church Introduction
The villagers of Dili, like other Bunun people, practice either Christianity or Catholicism, and there are two types of chapels in the village. The Catholic church in Dili Village has been established for over 50 years, and it is said that more than 80% of the villagers in their 30s and 40s were delivered by nuns in a flat building above the church. This is quite an interesting record in Taiwan. The brick church is situated on a grassy area adorned with lush greenery, simple yet exuding a sense of stability, making visitors unconsciously slow their pace and refrain from being reckless. Near the church, there is an herb garden; besides serving as an ingredient for dishes and pastries, nuns guide local women in making herbal sachets for sale to increase the villagers' income. Below the church, there is a basketball court, which serves as a place for the athletic indigenous people to spend many youthful years during their formative years.
