Dili Village Catholic Church Introduction
The residents of Dili Village, like other Bunun tribes, adhere to either Christianity or Catholicism, and there are two types of chapels in the village. The Catholic church in Dili Village has been established for over 50 years. It is said that more than 80% of the villagers in their 30s and 40s were delivered by nuns in a bungalow above the church. This is quite an interesting record in Taiwan. The red brick church is situated on a green lawn adorned with flourishing plants. Its simple and unadorned structure exudes a certain stabilizing power, causing visitors to unconsciously lighten their footsteps and act with restraint. Near the church, there is an herb garden; beyond being an addition to dishes and pastries, nuns guide local women in making herb bags for sale, helping to increase the villagers' income. Beneath the church, there is a basketball court, which serves as a place for the sporty indigenous people to spend many of their youthful years.
