Dili Village Catholic Church Introduction

The villagers of Jili, like other Bunun groups, adhere to either Christianity or Catholicism, and there are two types of chapels in the village. The Catholic church in Jili has been established for over 50 years, and it is said that over 80% of villagers in their 30s and 40s were born in a single-story building above the church, attended by nuns. The Catholic church in Jili can be regarded as an interesting record in Taiwan. The red-brick church is situated on a lush green lawn, simple and unadorned yet exuding a sense of stability that naturally causes visitors to slow their pace and behave with restraint. Nearby, there is a herb garden; in addition to being used as a seasoning in dishes and pastries, the nuns guide local women in making herbal sachets for sale to enhance the villagers' income. Below the church, there is a basketball court, which serves as a place for the athletic indigenous people to spend many unforgettable youth days.
