Dajiu Waterfall Introduction
The entrance to Dajing Waterfall is located in Xinfeng Village, Gaoshu Township, alongside County Road 185 at the 2k mark. It is known as "Awu Waterfall," "Weiliao Waterfall," or "Xinfeng Waterfall." The waterfall has five tiers, with the first and second tiers being more accessible to the public, equipped with well-established trails. The dense foliage acts like a natural umbrella, often attracting many visitors. The waterfall is approximately 20 meters high and cascades down at a 90-degree angle, resembling a white silk curtain hanging from the cliff. Although the valley area is not large, the thick shade makes the sound of the water feel magnificent as you wander through. Climbing up to the pavilion for a panoramic view of Pingtung's greenery is a must-see for visitors. It is recommended to stay for about an hour; excluding rest time, it takes about 20-30 minutes of walking to reach the waterfall. As the third, fourth, and fifth tiers of the waterfall are located deep in the forest and are less accessible, they are rarely visited, and snakes and insects may be present. It is best to be well-equipped and mindful of safety when attempting to reach them.
