Dazun Waterfall Introduction
The entrance to Dazhu Waterfall is located in Xinfeng Village, Gaoshu Township, along County Road 185, beside the mountain road at the 2km mark. It is known as "Awu Waterfall," "Weiliao Waterfall," or "Xinfeng Waterfall." The waterfall has a total of five tiers, with the first and second tiers being more accessible and equipped with well-maintained trails. The dense tree shade acts like a natural umbrella, often attracting many visitors. The waterfall is approximately 20 meters high and cascades down at a 90-degree angle, resembling a white silk thread hanging from the cliff. Although the valley is not large, the lush greenery enhances the atmosphere with the sound of rushing water, and climbing up to the pavilion for a panoramic view of Pingtung's greenery is a must-see for visitors. It is recommended to spend about 1 hour here; excluding rest time, it takes about 20-30 minutes of walking to reach the waterfall. Since the third, fourth, and fifth tiers of the waterfall are located deep in the forest and are less accessible, they are less frequented and may have snakes and insects. It is best to have proper equipment and be mindful of personal safety if you wish to visit these areas.
