Dajiu Waterfall Introduction
The entrance to Dajiu Waterfall is located in Xinfeng Village, Gaoshu Township, next to County Road 185 along the mountain highway at the 2k mark. It is also known as "Awu Waterfall," "Weiliao Waterfall," or "Xinfeng Waterfall." The waterfall has a total of five tiers, with the routes to the first and second tiers being more accessible, featuring well-maintained trails. The dense shade provided by the trees acts like natural umbrellas, often attracting many visitors. The waterfall has a height of about 20 meters and cascades down at a 90-degree angle, resembling white silk hanging from the cliff; the valley is not large, but the dense shade amplifies the sounds of the flowing water, creating a majestic atmosphere. Climbing up to the pavilion for a view of the green fields of Pingtung is an unmissable experience for tourists. It is recommended to stay for about one hour, with approximately 20-30 minutes of continuous walking required to reach the waterfall, excluding rest time. As the third, fourth, and fifth tiers of the waterfall are located deep in the forest and are less accessible, they are less frequented and may have snakes and insects. It is advisable to have proper equipment and to pay attention to personal safety when visiting.
