Maolin Valley / Loushixi Trail Introduction
Maolin Valley Waterfall is located at the end of the Lumusu Stream Trail in the Maolin District. The entrance to the trail is found by turning right after crossing the Lumusu Bridge on the Lumusu Access Road and continuing for approximately 0.8 kilometers. The name "Lumusu" in the Rukai language means "beautiful valley," and it is a tributary of the Zhuokou River. The trail winds along the terrain, allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning canyon views, lush green forests, and butterflies fluttering around, accompanied by the soothing sound of flowing stream water, which is incredibly refreshing. The entire trail spans 4 kilometers, but currently only 1.2 kilometers is open to the public. After passing through a series of bamboo tunnels, visitors will reach the majestic Maolin Valley Waterfall. The powerful and grand waterfall is a sight to behold, making the journey worthwhile and helping to forget worries. It is recommended to spend about 1.5 hours at the site, and please be cautious of mosquitoes and insects along the way.
