Maolin Valley / Romus Creek Trail Introduction

Maolin Valley Waterfall is located at the end of the Lumusu Creek Trail in the Maolin District. The entrance to the Lumusu Creek Trail is about 0.8 kilometers after turning right at the sign just past the Lumusu Bridge on Lumusu External Road. "Lumusu" in the Rukai language means "beautiful valley," and it is a tributary of the Zhuokou River. As the trail winds along the mountain terrain, visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the canyon, lush green forests, and fluttering butterflies, all accompanied by the soothing sound of flowing water, creating a refreshing atmosphere. The trail is 4 kilometers long, but currently only 1.2 kilometers is open. After passing through a series of bamboo groves, you will reach the Maolin Valley Waterfall, which boasts magnificent splendor. Witnessing such beauty in person is worth forgetting your troubles. It is recommended to spend about 1.5 hours here, and please be cautious of mosquitoes and insects along the way.
