Longtoushan Recreation Area Introduction
Longtou Mountain Recreation Area is located at kilometer 12 on County Road 132 in Maolin District. The area includes attractions such as Eagle Valley, Longtou Mountain circular hills, Douna Bridge, Longtou Mountain Mini Great Wall Trail, Douna High Suspension Bridge, and Shetou Mountain. The Longtou Mountain Mini Great Wall Trail runs along the ridge line, featuring a gentle and easy path suitable for the general public. Walking to the midsection offers a broad view of the distant mountains. Continuing downward leads to the Douna High Suspension Bridge, which is 232 meters long and was an important transportation route for the early Douna tribe. The bridge is adorned with indigenous totem paintings, making it quite vibrant and distinctive, making it a great spot for leisure strolls on weekends. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the Longtou Mountain Trail, and if you're willing to spend an additional half hour, you can also walk to the Douna High Suspension Bridge for a stunning view of the gorge.
