Longtouping Recreation Area Introduction
Longtou Mountain Recreation Area is located 12 kilometers on County Road 132 in Maolin District. The area includes attractions such as Eagle Valley, Longtou Mountain's ring-shaped hill terrain, Duona Bridge, Longtou Mountain's Little Great Wall Trail, Duona Suspension Bridge, and Shetou Mountain. The Little Great Wall Trail runs along the ridge and features a gentle and easy pathway suitable for the general public. The mid-section offers expansive views, allowing visitors to take in distant mountain scenery. Continuing down the trail leads to Duona Suspension Bridge, which spans 232 meters and was once a crucial transportation route for the early Duona tribe. The bridge is adorned with colorful indigenous totem paintings, making it quite striking and unique, perfect for weekend leisure and hiking. It takes about 30 minutes to walk the Longtou Mountain Trail, and an additional half hour is needed to reach Duona Suspension Bridge for a view of the beautiful gorge.
