Fortress of Valor Introduction
One of the three forts on Lieyu Island, Warrior Fort covers a vast area. To enter the fort, visitors must cross a small bridge, traverse a three-meter-deep trench, and ascend a gentle slope. Behind the camouflage net is a large gate bearing the words "Warrior Fort," highlighting the tense atmosphere of Lieyu during its frontline status. Warrior Fort is divided into two levels; the upper level features the artillery fortress, the Zhongshan Room, and sleeping quarters, while the lower part contains eight machine gun bunkers, four ammunition depots, and a firefighting water tank, with a noteworthy tank bunker as well. Inside the fort, there are hundreds of meters of underground transportation tunnels that connect the main military facilities beneath the surface and link to the Iron Fortress, which is also open for tourism. The tunnels are renovated to serve as a landmine exhibition hall, allowing visitors to experience moving underground.
