Fort Warriors Introduction
Yongshi Fortress, one of the three forts in Lieyu, occupies a vast area. To enter the fortress, one must cross a small bridge, traverse a three-meter-deep moat, and climb a gentle slope. Beyond the camouflage netting is a large gate bearing the words "Yongshi Fortress," highlighting the tense atmosphere of Lieyu being on the front lines at that time. Yongshi Fortress is divided into two levels: the upper level mainly consists of artillery bunkers, Zhongshan rooms, and sleeping quarters; the underground section houses eight machine gun bunkers, four ammunition depots, and a fire reservoir. Notably, there is also a tank fortress. The fortress features hundreds of meters of underground tunnels connecting the main military facilities below ground, and it is linked to the also publicly accessible Tiehan Fortress. The connecting tunnel has been transformed into a landmine exhibition hall, allowing visitors to experience what it's like to navigate underground.
