Qilin Mountain Forest Park Introduction
Qilin Mountain Forest Park is located in the northern central part of Lieyu Township, with an elevation of 119 meters, making it the highest point on the island of Lieyu. In response to continuous military conflicts in the past, the Qilin Mountain Shooting Range was renovated in 1958 for military training purposes. In 2009, the shooting range was discontinued and transformed into a recreational area for tourism. The scenic views from Qilin Mountain Forest Park are excellent, offering a vantage point to overlook the Jinmen Bridge and the Kinmen Strait waters. On clear days, visitors can enjoy distant views of the high-rise buildings along the coast of Xiamen, as well as the scenery of Dadan and Erdan Islands. There is an observation deck at the summit for hikers to rest and enjoy the views.
