Qilin Mountain Forest Park Introduction
Qilin Mountain Forest Park is located in the northern central part of Lieyu Township, at an elevation of 119 meters, making it the highest point on the entire island of Lieyu. Due to ongoing military conflicts in the past, the Qilin Mountain shooting range was established in 1958 for military training purposes. In 2009, the shooting range was decommissioned and transformed into a tourism and leisure area. The park offers excellent scenic views, allowing visitors to overlook the Kinmen Bridge, the Kinmen Strait, and the waters around Greater and Lesser Kinmen. On clear days, it is possible to see the skyline of Xiamen and the scenic islands of Dadan and Erdan in the distance. A lookout tower is set up at the peak for hikers to rest and enjoy the scenery.
