Qilin Mountain Forest Park Introduction
Qilin Mountain Forest Park is located in the central-northern part of Lieyu Township, with an elevation of 119 meters, making it the highest point on the island of Lieyu. In the early years, due to ongoing military conflicts, it was developed in 1958 as a firing range for military training. The Qilin Mountain firing range ceased operations in 2009 and has since transitioned to tourism and leisure use. The park offers excellent scenic views, overlooking the Jinmen Bridge and the Jinlie Waterway. On clear days, visitors can gaze at the high-rise buildings along the coast of Xiamen and the scenic views of the Greater and Lesser Dadan Islands. There is a lookout platform on the summit for hikers to rest and enjoy the scenery.
