Qilin Mountain Forest Park Introduction
Qilin Mountain Forest Park is located in the northern part of Lieyu Township, with an elevation of 119 meters, making it the highest point on the island of Lieyu. Originally, due to ongoing military conflicts, it was built as a training site and military base, with the Qilin Mountain Shooting Range established in 1958. The shooting range ceased operations in 2009 and was repurposed for tourism and recreational use. The park offers excellent scenic views, overlooking the Jinmen Bridge and the Jinlie Channel. On clear days, visitors can see the tall buildings along the coast of Xiamen and the scenic views of the Dadan and Erdan Islets. There is an observation platform at the summit for hikers to relax and enjoy the scenery.
