Zeng Ji Muji Co., Ltd. Introduction

The founder, Dong Chun-Liang, and his wife, Tseng Hui-Chuan, built the brand of Zeng Ji, the first GSP (Good Supply Practice) certified store in the country for mochi, through their entrepreneurial journey starting as mobile vendors. At the beginning of operating the store, Dong Chun-Liang required all employees to wear masks, caps, and gloves to maintain food hygiene. However, some employees opposed this, citing that it was too hot. As a result, he led by example and then required all employees to wear them, which created Zeng Ji's unique characteristic of having staff in white clothing, white caps, and white masks publicly making mochi in the store. This transparency gives consumers more confidence in food hygiene, making it the first innovative practice among mochi makers nationwide. He insists on not using preservatives to make mochi, which, while it doesn’t make Dong Chun-Liang wealthy, allows him to support his family. Dong Chun-Liang admits that this business philosophy is relatively conservative. However, now with an unwavering commitment to avoiding preservatives, and after repeated efforts to develop technology, Zeng Ji's handmade mochi has extended its freshness from one day to two days.
