Naruwan Hotel Hualien Introduction

A leisure hotel showcasing the traditional cultural characteristics of indigenous people with a modern twist, providing guests with a space rich in culture. Each floor features nine rooms representing nine different tribes, designed with the characteristics, culture, and expertise of each tribe. Many symbols belonging to indigenous peoples are transformed into spatial elements, seeking the simplest arrangement of elements within a dynamic space, finding innovative methods within tradition. The interior is adorned with a variety of indigenous artworks, including wood carvings, stone sculptures, embroidery, and paintings, many of which are works by Mr. Li Guangxiong, father of music master Li Taixiang. Mr. Li Guangxiong was also the mentor of Mr. Yuan Zhikuan, the creator of various indigenous sculptures at Hualien Ashido Hotel. A master of the 1950s and 60s, Mr. Li Guangxiong’s wood carvings at the hotel reception and in every room evoke the rustic charm of indigenous lifestyles, hunting, and agriculture. The unique style of indigenous culture provides a mythical experience upon entering the Naruwan Hotel in Hualien. While enjoying leisure time, you can also feel the genuine warmth and meticulous service that reflects the simplicity and hospitality of indigenous peoples.
