Chunren Brown Sugar Cake Introduction
Located in an inconspicuous alley on Zhongzheng Road, this place produces the most famous brown sugar cake in Penghu. Make sure to get there early, as their brown sugar cake is so delicious that it often runs out. The owner insists on making and selling them on the same day. The brown sugar cake has a particularly chewy and sweet texture, and no preservatives are added, so its shelf life is short—best enjoyed fresh. This delicacy was originally brought by the Japanese as food for temple fairs and rituals, and it has now become one of Penghu's specialties. It is said that the reason Chunren's brown sugar cake is especially tasty is due to the unique quality of the water used in the cake-making process, leaving a lingering flavor compared to others.
