Tung Yin Snack Introduction
In the Penghu region, Tuiyin Snacks are the most famous, representing a blend of Minnan flavors left from the Ming-Zheng period, mixed with Japanese cuisine from the colonial era, and later influenced by the influx of Chinese immigrants from various provinces after 1949, who brought their hometown flavors to Taiwan. These traditional tastes from various regions, upon arriving in Taiwan, interacted with the existing local food culture, resulting in the creation of unique new flavors. The booming economy also led people to seek not just to satisfy their hunger but to explore different culinary variations. Thus, Tuiyin Snacks have become more than just fillers between meals; they can instead serve as a full meal on their own.
