Tung Yin Snack Introduction
In the Penghu region, Tujin Snack is the most famous, with flavors originating from the Minnan cuisine left over from the Ming Zheng period. It has also incorporated Japanese cuisine from the colonial era and, after 1949, many immigrants from various provinces of China brought their hometown flavors to Taiwan. These traditional tastes from various regions interacted with Taiwan's existing food culture, creating a unique new flavor. The vigorous economic development has led people to not only be satisfied with just being full but also to pursue diverse culinary variations. Therefore, Tujin Snacks are not merely fillers between meals but can actually serve as a main dish.
