Shuang Xing Sweet Potato Starch Noodles Introduction

This famous Shuangxing Sweet Potato Noodle shop is always bustling with customers on weekdays, and even more so on weekends. Although the shop has been around for about fourteen or fifteen years and is now run by the second generation, it has been renovated and doesn’t feel old at all; instead, it has a hint of modernity. While it may lack a bit of old-fashioned charm, it offers a clean and bright space. The owner mentioned that she has been in this business since she graduated from high school, and it’s hard to believe that she has been doing it for decades. When you visit, I recommend ordering the sweet potato noodles with a bit of spice. After enjoying the hearty ingredients, ask the staff for a bowl of soup. The sauce and hot soup mix in your mouth, creating an incredible flavor. What sets them apart is their sauce and broth; the sauce is yellowish-brown and tastes somewhat like miso, but looks nothing like it. The chili sauce in the shop is made by the owner in the summer, as it’s said that summer chili peppers are better. The broth is made with small dried shrimp.
