Shimen Farmers' Association Sticky Rice Dumplings Introduction
Shimen Agricultural Association's Stone Farm Pork Zongzi is a specialty shop producing zongzi guided by the Shimen District Agricultural Association. When it comes to selecting ingredients for the zongzi, they use pork from electrical slaughterhouses marked with the CAS certification, round glutinous rice from Chihshang, Taitung, and thick, fragrant Taiwan button mushrooms. The handling of the bamboo leaves is taken very seriously; each leaf is carefully washed under flowing water. Additionally, the shallots used for flavoring are prepared meticulously—removing the heads and tails, peeling off the outer skin, and washing each clove before being sautéed. Even the salted egg yolk wrapped inside the bamboo leaves is given special attention; it is first sprinkled with rice wine and then baked before being added to the filling to enhance its flavor. In recent years, Stone Farm Pork Zongzi has continually developed new flavors, including seafood zongzi with scallops and abalone, trendy ice zongzi, high-fiber zongzi focused on health, and red yeast rice zongzi. Their latest creation, "Taro and Sakura Shrimp Zongzi," offers more options for the public.
