Shimen Farmers' Association Rice Dumplings Introduction
Shimen Farming Meat Zongzi is a specialty store for meat zongzi guided by the Shimen District Farmers' Association. In selecting ingredients for the zongzi, they use CAS-certified pork, round glutinous rice from Chihshang, Taitung, and thick, aromatic Taiwan needle mushrooms. The processing of the bamboo leaves is meticulous; under flowing water, each leaf is carefully brushed and washed. Furthermore, the shallots used for flavor are meticulously prepped: they have their ends trimmed and are peeled before being thoroughly cleaned and sautéed. Even the salted egg yolk wrapped in the bamboo leaves is crafted with care; it is first sprinkled with rice wine, baked in the oven, and then added to the filling to enhance its flavor. In recent years, Shimen Farming Meat Zongzi has continuously developed new flavors, including satisfaction zongzi with dried scallops and abalone, trendy ice zongzi, high-fiber vegetarian zongzi incorporating health concepts, and red yeast rice health zongzi. The latest development, "Taro and Sakura Shrimp Zongzi," offers the public more choices.
