Yifeng Winter Melon Tea Introduction
Founded in the first year of the Republic of China, this old store in Tainan is one of the few remaining traditional winter melon candy producers. The process of brewing winter melon tea does not involve any preservatives or chemical additives, resulting in a rich flavor and a strong winter melon aroma. Initially, Mr. Lin's sons were unwilling to take over the business, and Mr. Lin also felt that it was a dying industry. However, his youngest son, Lin Ke-Chuan, returned to operate a beverage shop, and Mr. Lin was worried that the family business would end with him. Unexpectedly, the business developed a new perspective; Yifeng Winter Melon Factory has branches throughout Taiwan, all run by the descendants of the Lin family. Yifeng's winter melon tea has a unique caramel aroma and is still handcrafted today, so the production is limited.
