Dawan Peanut Candy has a history of over a century, emphasizing pure handmade production, and has been passed down through four generations. The fourth-generation successor, Zheng Wansheng, established the flagship store opposite the historical site "Chihkan Tower" in Tainan City. They preserve traditional flavors while enhancing the hygiene and quality of the store environment, evolving the packaging to extend the tasting period. Passing down four generations of craftsmanship, they insist on producing fresh candy daily and selling it freshly cut. Using fresh peanuts combined with low-sweetness maltose and premium granulated sugar, they cook it over a wood fire for more than an hour, with constant manual stirring to avoid burning. This method results in a peanut candy that has a more delicate and fine texture and is less sticky than machine-made varieties.
