Jinfu Dawan Peanut Candy - Chihkan Store Introduction
Dawan Peanut Candy has a history of over a hundred years, emphasizing pure handmade production, which has been passed down through four generations. The fourth-generation heir, Zheng Wan-sheng, has established the flagship store across from the historic site "Chihkan Tower" in Tainan City. They preserve the traditional flavor while enhancing the cleanliness and quality of the store environment and evolving the packaging to extend the tasting period. Inheriting four generations of craftsmanship, they insist on making fresh daily, cutting and selling on-site, using fresh peanuts paired with lightly sweetened maltose and high-quality granulated sugar, cooked over wood fire for more than an hour. The process requires constant manual stirring to prevent burning, resulting in a more delicate and less sticky texture compared to machine-made peanut candy.
