Dawan Peanut Candy has a history of over a century, emphasizing pure handmade production that has been passed down through four generations. The fourth-generation inheritor, Zheng Wansheng, has established the flagship store opposite Chikan Tower, a first-class historic site in Tainan City. They preserve the traditional flavors while enhancing the quality and hygiene of the store environment. The packaging has been upgraded to extend the freshness period, inheriting four generations of craftsmanship by insisting on making it fresh every day, cutting and selling it on-site. They use fresh peanuts combined with low-sugar maltose and high-quality granulated sugar, cooked over a wooden fire for more than an hour, requiring constant manual stirring to prevent burning. As a result, their peanut candy has a more delicate and fluffy texture and is less sticky compared to machine-made versions.
