In 1997, the Guantian District Agricultural Association held the first Guantian water caltrop festival from October 5 to October 12 to breathe new life into the water caltrop, combining local culture and historical heritage. During the event, they launched the "Water Caltrop Feast," which was open for reservations and held by the Hu Lu Pi. More than 50,000 people attended the event, and the "Water Caltrop Feast" gained fame throughout Taiwan.
