The first-generation settled Xinying Paper Factory, where Mr. Deng learned Guangdong cuisine from a young age, was hired as a chef for a guesthouse. At that time, President Yen Chia-kan, General Ho Ying-chin, and Tainan County Magistrate Liu Po-wen often requested Mr. Deng to be the chef. Later, he switched to selling breakfast, retaining a strong flavor of mainland cuisine in the dishes and insisting on generous portions, chewy noodles, and authenticity.
