Baodaxiang Sunflower Seeds Introduction

Adhering to Sun-Drying and a Taste of Sunshine: The banks of the Zengwen River were once the largest sunflower seed production area in Taiwan, with Madou being the main manufacturing and wholesale center. Baoda Xiang is the founding shop of licorice soy sauce sunflower seeds. The family-run business, now in its third generation, insists on using traditional sun-drying methods to give the seeds a taste reminiscent of sunshine. First, the sunflower seeds are soaked for a whole day, occasionally being stirred for a spa treatment. The next morning, they are given a warm bath mixture with licorice and soy sauce, boiled until cooked. After cooking, they undergo sunbathing, and finally, they are mixed with coconut oil for a finishing touch, making the entire production process take one to two days. Low Sugar, Low Salt, Emphasizing Ingredients: While sunflower seeds can be made with salad oil and machine drying, these methods often result in an oily odor that leaves a bitter taste. Baoda Xiang insists on spa treatment, sun-drying, low sugar, and low salt, using higher-cost soy sauce and coconut oil.
