Baoda Sunflower Seeds Introduction
Insisting on Sun-Drying, a Taste of Sunshine: The Zengwen River banks were once the largest sunflower seed production area in Taiwan, with Madou being the primary manufacturing and wholesale site. Baodaxiang is the founding store of licorice soy sauce sunflower seeds. The family has adhered to traditional sun-drying methods for three generations, giving the sunflower seeds a taste reminiscent of sunshine. First, the seeds are soaked for a whole day and periodically stirred for a spa treatment. The next morning, the seeds are given a warm bath mixed with licorice and soy sauce to cook. After that, they undergo sunbathing, and finally, coconut oil is added to give the seeds a finishing touch. The entire production process takes one to two days. Low Sugar, Low Salt, Emphasizing Ingredients: Although sunflower seeds can be made using salad oil and machine drying, this method often leads to an oily smell, which can be unpalatable. Baodaxiang insists on spa treatments, sun-drying, and using low sugar and low salt, employing higher-cost soy sauce and coconut oil.
