Dujia Settlement Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall Introduction
Dujia Settlement was gradually developed by the Qiu family, with all residents sharing the Qiu surname. It is currently the largest and most well-preserved single-surname bloodline settlement in Taiwan. The ancestors of Dujia Settlement initially migrated from Fujian to Taiwan, established families, and settled together, reflecting the early development of the Tainan area and the formation of settlements. Dujia Settlement is located in Qigu District, and is a beautiful fishing village that historically produced a large quantity of milkfish. Recently, it has become an important production area for mullet roe in Taiwan, with a total breeding area of over 250 hectares. The "Dujia Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall" is the first settlement-type museum in Tainan, operated under the concept of a community museum. It is divided into four zones with eight themes, utilizing multimedia, physical artifacts, photographs, documents, and videos to showcase the diverse aspects of Dujia Settlement culture. The exhibition hall is usually not open to the public; for visits, please contact the community activity center in advance.
