Duke Community Cultural Exhibition Hall Introduction
Dujia Settlement was gradually developed by the Qiu family, and all residents share the Qiu surname. It is currently the most well-preserved and largest single-surname settlement in Taiwan. The ancestors of Dujia Settlement migrated from Fujian to Taiwan, established their families, and lived in clusters, reflecting the early development of the Tainan area and the formation of settlements. Dujia Settlement is located in Qigu District, a beautiful fishing village that was known for its abundance of milkfish in the past, and is now an important production area for Taiwan's mullet roe, with a farming area exceeding 250 hectares. The "Dujia Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall" is the first settlement-type museum in Tainan, operated based on the concept of a community museum, featuring four zones and eight themes. The overall spatial flow utilizes multimedia, physical exhibits, photos, documents, and videos to present the diverse aspects of Dujia Settlement's culture. The exhibition hall is usually not open to the public, and prior inquiries with the community activity center are required for visits.
