Dujia settlement was developed by the Qiu family, and all residents share the surname Qiu. It is currently the most well-preserved and largest single-surname lineage settlement in Taiwan. The ancestors of Dujia settlement migrated from Fujian to Taiwan, establishing their families and raising their descendants, living in close proximity; this process is a microcosm of the early development of the Tainan area and the formation of settlements. Dujia settlement is located in Qigu District, a beautiful fishing village that was once known for its abundance of bangus (milkfish), and it is now an important production area for mullet roe in Taiwan, with a farming area exceeding 250 hectares. The "Dujia Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall" is the first settlement-type museum in Tainan, planned and operated with the concept of a community museum. It is divided into four zones and eight themes, with the overall spatial flow using multimedia, physical objects, photographs, documents, and videos to present the diverse aspects of Dujia settlement culture. The exhibition hall is generally not open to the public; please contact the community activity center in advance for visits.

Duga Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall Introduction

Dujia Village was gradually developed by the Qiu family, which is the only household name in the settlement, making it the most intact and largest single-surname genetic village in Taiwan. The ancestors of Dujia Village originally moved from Fujian to Taiwan, established their families, and multiplied, living together, which reflects the historical process of early development in the Tainan area and the formation of settlements. Dujia Village is located in the Qigu District, a beautiful fishing village that was primarily known for its production of milkfish in the past and is currently an important production area for Taiwan's mullet roe, with a cultivation area exceeding 250 hectares. The "Dujia Village Cultural Exhibition Center" is the first settlement-based museum in Tainan, operated with the concept of a community museum, divided into four areas and eight themes. The overall space layout utilizes multimedia, physical exhibits, photos, documents, and videos to present the diverse aspects of Dujia Village's culture. The exhibition center is typically not open to the public; if you wish to visit, please inquire in advance with the community activity center.
