Ducaca Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall Introduction
Dujia Settlement was gradually developed by the Qiu family, with all residents sharing the Qiu surname. It is currently the largest and most well-preserved single-surname lineage settlement in Taiwan. The ancestors of Dujia Settlement originally migrated from Fujian to Taiwan, established families, and lived together, reflecting the early development of the Tainan area and the formation of settlements. Dujia Settlement is located in Qigu District, and it is a picturesque fishing village, historically known for its production of milkfish, and more recently, it has become an important production area for mullet roe in Taiwan, with a farming area exceeding 250 hectares. The "Dujia Settlement Cultural Exhibition Hall" is the first settlement-type museum in Tainan, operated with the concept of a community museum. It is divided into four areas with eight themes, utilizing multimedia, physical objects, photographs, documents, and videos to showcase the diverse aspects of Dujia Settlement's culture. The exhibition hall is not open to the public regularly; prior consultation with the community activity center is required for visits.
