R5 Bistro

Chiayi Foods

The idea of operating a restaurant, café, and art gallery combined into one establishment comes from the founder of "R5小餐館," Zhong Hsiao-Tseh. Having previously worked as a software engineer, he has always harbored a dream of opening a store. After careful evaluation and consideration, he resolutely left his job to pursue his entrepreneurial dream, showcasing his culinary aesthetics through R5小餐館 to every customer who walks in. Zhong Hsiao-Tseh, who had a travel and work experience as a student, tasted very pure American hamburgers—without excessive sauces, purely meat as the soul of the burger. "Although simple, it has a refreshing taste," he reminisces, adding, "But after returning to Taiwan, I have never experienced a similar feeling again." This drive led him to establish the goal of opening a new type of Western cuisine restaurant. Zhong takes pride in the fact that all the dishes in the restaurant use natural ingredients and insists on not adding MSG or flavor enhancers that are overly strong. Not only is it healthy, but importantly, it allows customers to enjoy the pure taste of food. Through this culinary spirit, he aims to recreate the simplicity he once experienced. "Additionally, the drinks and desserts are also of professional quality, such as our specialty coffee and freshly baked artisanal desserts," Zhong adds. Besides focusing on Western dishes, he also wants to ensure the quality of drinks and desserts. "I hope customers visiting here feel that it is not just a restaurant but also a café and a dessert shop." This is his ambition, as he strives for perfection in every detail, continuously engaging with like-minded individuals to accumulate his experience and expertise. This is not just a restaurant; it also overturns people's imaginations—regularly holding exhibitions using the concept of activating wall spaces, filling the small area with an artistic ambiance while providing a platform for art enthusiasts to interact. Are you a fan of pure ingredient cuisine? Do you love specialty coffee? Are you interested in cultural activities? Then, visit "R5小餐館" to satisfy all your cravings at once! Recommended dishes: American hamburgers, matcha milk foam.
