R5 Bistro Introduction
The concept of a restaurant, café, and gallery combined into one is the brainchild of Zhong Hsiao-Tse, the founder of "R5 Small Restaurant." Having previously worked as a software engineer, he always had a dream of opening his own shop. After extensive evaluation and consideration, he decisively left his job to pursue entrepreneurship, presenting his culinary aesthetics through R5 Small Restaurant to every customer who walks through the door. During his student days, Zhong experienced working while traveling and tasted a very pure American hamburger—one without excessive sauces, just a burger with meat as the soul of the dish. "Although simple, it has a very refreshing taste," he reminisces, "but after returning to Taiwan, I never tasted a similar emotion again." This motivation solidified his goal to open a new-style Western cuisine restaurant. Zhong proudly mentions that all the dishes in the restaurant are made from natural ingredients, insisting on not adding MSG or overly strong flavor enhancers. It's not just healthy; the main point is to let customers enjoy the purest taste of food. Through this culinary spirit, he seeks to recreate the simplicity he once tasted. "In addition, the drinks and desserts are also of professional quality, such as our specialty coffee and homemade desserts," Zhong adds. Beyond focusing on Western dishes, he wants to ensure the quality of beverages and desserts as well. "I hope that customers visiting here don’t just think of it as a restaurant, but also a café and dessert shop." This ambition drives him to maintain high standards in every detail, constantly exchanging ideas with like-minded individuals to accumulate experience and expertise. It's more than just a restaurant; it transforms people's imagination by utilizing the concept of activating wall spaces to regularly hold exhibitions, filling the small space with cultural and artistic vibes, while also providing a platform for art enthusiasts to interact. Do you enjoy pure ingredient dishes? Love specialty coffee? Interested in cultural activities? Then come to "R5 Small Restaurant" to satisfy all your cravings!
