Dings Tea

Chiayi Foods

In the city, enjoying a cup of freshly brewed high mountain tea at Ding-style Tea House, a brand born from the connection between returning second-generation tea farmer Chung Ming-chih and a unique sheepdog named Ding-Ding. Unlike the typical tea shops found in Taiwan, this establishment takes the form of a café, offering fresh tea for young patrons to help them understand the essence of Taiwanese tea without barriers. After returning to the tea industry, Chung Ming-chih was surprised to find that the younger generation represented a small portion of tea consumers, as they were more accustomed to the convenience and affordability of bubble tea, leading to a sense of distance from traditional Taiwanese tea. Many are unfamiliar with its culture and significance, and often hesitant to enter tea shops to learn more. Thus, creating an opportunity for Taiwanese tea and young people to get to know each other became the mission behind the establishment of Ding-style Tea House. Ding-style Tea House has created a new way to enjoy tea, crafting a comfortable, pressure-free tea-drinking space. Guests can choose a cozy seat, casually order tea from the menu, and once the tea is brewed and served, they can savor it at their leisure or enjoy a novel from the shelf. They can even sit at the bar and chat with the owner, who shares insights on tea cultivation and preparation, along with historical stories related to tea, providing guests with a refreshed or deeper understanding of tea. We are fortunate to be situated in a renowned tea-producing area in Taiwan and hope that through this tea house, young individuals, who may still be unfamiliar with Taiwanese tea, can begin to recognize it, gradually cultivating the habit of enjoying a cup of tea in their lives. As winter quietly approaches, we are excited to offer our winter special - osmanthus oolong tea. Why not stop by and listen to the stories behind good Taiwanese tea? Recommended dishes: Osmanthus Oolong Tea (winter special), Premium Black Tea (house favorite).
