Founded in 1953, Jia Hsiang Wei has a legacy of over half a century in Chiayi, carefully selecting fresh ingredients to create nutritious and delicious handmade treats. The baking skills were passed down from the father, who learned from the Japanese during the colonial period, starting with traditional yokan, then expanding to include steamed buns, snowy cakes, sweet potatoes, and innovative square pastries. Among them, the retro-flavored Nan Xin snowy cake uses high-quality butter as the filling, available in two flavors: lemon and pineapple. Topped with a layer of powdered sugar, it resembles snow, hence the name. Soft and fluffy, it melts in your mouth and can even be enjoyed frozen in summer, reminiscent of ice cream cake.
