The first canelé specialty store in Chiayi was established in 2020 by a young man in his 90s who loves making desserts. He chose canelé, known as the "Angel's Bell," as the theme for his entrepreneurial venture. Although located in a quiet old house on Guangcai Street in Chiayi City, he invested in a well-known design company, Xiao Fu Qi, to create an elegant atmosphere with a combination of blue and dark wood tones, complemented by dreamy white sheer curtains, reflecting a French vintage sentiment. If you have the chance to walk down this street, you will be surprised to find a dessert shop that sells only canelé in Chiayi, where you can step inside and feel the warm, sweet aroma emanating from the bakery. As a canelé specialty store, Jiu Ling Sweet Shop offers not only the classic canelé but has also developed various flavors containing fillings, such as matcha, coffee, apricot, cocoa, Earl Grey, Pu-erh tea, and Thai milk tea. Occasionally, they also release limited editions, like the Mini canelé, which is more difficult to make but perfect for a single bite. During different holidays, they launch a mixed flavor gift box as well. Due to the pandemic, the dessert chef at Jiu Ling Sweet Shop is currently operating solo and does not offer dine-in services.
