90 Sweets Introduction
The first Canelé specialty store in Chiayi was established in 2020 by a young man in his 90s who loves making desserts. He chose the Canelé, known as the "Bell of Angels," as the theme. Although located in a quieter area of Chiayi City on Guangcai Street in an old house, he invested in hiring a famous design company, Xiao Fuqi, to create an elegant blue and dark wooden decor, complemented by dreamy white curtains, showcasing a vintage French charm. If you happen to walk down this street, you will be surprised that Chiayi has a dessert shop that only sells Canelé. Stepping inside, you can feel the warm and sweet aroma of baking. As a Canelé specialty shop, 90 Sweet House not only offers classic Canelés but also has developed various flavors such as matcha, coffee, apricot, cocoa, Earl Grey, milk tea, and Thai milk tea, each with filling. They occasionally release limited editions, such as the Mini Canelé, which is more complex to make but perfect for one bite. They also create mixed flavor gift boxes for different holidays. Due to the pandemic, the pastry chef at 90 Sweet House is currently working solo, and dine-in is not available. If you have a favorite Canelé flavor, it is best to make a reservation in advance.
