Dulan Sugar Factory 61 Introduction
"Dulan Sugar Factory 61" was originally the Dulan Lounge - "Dulan Sugar Factory Coffee House," which often served as a gathering place for local residents and artists in Dulan. Due to the passage of time, the building's beams and columns gradually deteriorated, causing the structure to lean and the roof to pull apart, resulting in leaks. After the current owner, "Sister Jiang," took over, she actively renovated the building to prevent collapse while reimagining the old structure's new direction. It reopened at the end of 2014, restoring the skeletal structure from the Japanese colonial period, designed with the help of local artists, and has a restaurant theme centered around "brown sugar." The menu offers Chinese dishes, drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. Both visually and in taste, it aims to connect with the area's historical sugar industry and present an "old-fashioned" style. In the summer, a variety of frozen desserts related to brown sugar will also be offered. On lively weekend nights, the venue continues the spirit of the previous "Dulan Sugar Factory Coffee House" by inviting local music creators to perform outdoors, allowing everyone to experience the innovative atmosphere within the old building.
