Dulan Sugar Factory 61 Introduction
"Dulan Sugar Factory 61" was originally the Dulan Lounge, known as "Dulan Sugar Factory Cafe," which served as a gathering place for local residents and artists in Dulan. Due to the passage of time, the wooden pillars and bases of the building have gradually deteriorated, causing the structure to lean and pull the roof, resulting in leaks. After taking over, the current owner "Sister Jiang" has actively worked on renovating the precarious structure while also rethinking the new direction of the old building. After reopening at the end of 2014, it restored the skeletal structure reminiscent of the Japanese colonial period, collaborating with local artists for design, and establishing a restaurant themed around "brown sugar." The menu offers Chinese dishes, beverages, snacks, and souvenirs. Both visually and in terms of taste, it aims to connect with the region's past sugar manufacturing industry, presenting a style reminiscent of "traditional flavors." In the summer, a variety of desserts related to brown sugar will also be introduced. On lively weekend nights, the venue continues the artistic spirit of the former "Dulan Sugar Factory Cafe," inviting local music creators for outdoor performances, allowing everyone to experience the innovative atmosphere of the old house.
