Dongshi / Huahong Seafood Restaurant (Selected to participate in the 2010 Taiwan Gourmet Show as a featured restaurant) Introduction
Since the Chiayi County Government transformed the traditional Dongshi Fishing Port into the Dongshi Fisherman's Wharf, it has attracted a steady stream of visitors from across the province. Adjacent to the Fisherman's Wharf is the Huahong Seafood Restaurant, where owner Hsu Huajie and his two sons work together as chefs, creating exquisite dishes that many diners rave about. They have even gained online recommendations, accumulating thirteen years of reputation, and like the Fisherman's Wharf, it has become a favorite among gourmet visitors. Huahong Restaurant faces the Wanggong Fishing Port, which specializes in oyster farming, different from the Fisherman's Wharf that mainly focuses on fishing. However, the two locations are about a kilometer apart and can be reached along the embankment road. Huahong Restaurant specifically prepares unique oysters from the local area and offers a special dish of raw oysters, in addition to combining sightseeing with fishing rafts that take tourists to explore the growth of oysters at Sandi Island. Along the way, captain Wu Linshan provides an engaging and informative tour, becoming a distinctive feature of Dongshi fishing village. Known for selling wild seafood, Huahong Restaurant is also one of the locals' most revered establishments.
