Every time Chiayi City falls into the embrace of night, with the lights beginning to shine, the owner, Shi Yi-zhe (Xiao Mao), opens the doors of Casa Lounge Bar located on Daya Road. The orange-red walls of the bar create a warm atmosphere, welcoming anyone who needs a drink at night. Before establishing Casa Lounge Bar, Xiao Mao worked in car repair services and sales for nearly a decade in other counties and cities. After some contemplation, he realized that nothing is more important and precious than family back home, so returning to Chiayi seemed like the right choice. "At that time, this storefront was about to close, so I thought I would take over and invest. Who knew it would lead me to dive into this business," Xiao Mao said with a smile. In the first two years of operating the bar, due to heavy pressure, he only took three days off. By the third year, as the business gradually stabilized, he was able to take one day off a month to visit bars in other counties to learn from their strengths. Xiao Mao feels that Casa is one of the few bars in Chiayi City specializing in cocktails, and he has made it a task to let the cocktails tell the stories of Chiayi. Using tea leaves provided by his tea farmer friends, he infuses his cocktails with the majestic flavors of Alishan; he also chooses locally sourced pineapples to enhance the sweet and sour taste in his drinks. The bar counter is filled with various colorful bottles of alcohol, ready for Xiao Mao to concoct rich cocktails with his imaginative flair. On busy nights at Casa, nearly 80 cocktails may need to be served, with each one personally mixed and delivered by Xiao Mao to the customers. Even during hectic times, he never forgets to observe the moods and needs of each guest, hoping that everyone can find their own escape in this space. This orange-red bar on Daya Road not only offers warm drinks but also radiates the warmth of Chiayi's hospitality.
