Forgotten Fulu Alley - Ice Sauce Camp Introduction
Lane 181, Guohua Street, Chiayi City, commonly known as "Fu Lu Alley," was the route taken by examinees from Chiayi to Tainan Prefecture during the Qing Dynasty's Tongzhi period. The Old House Project aims to assist in the renovation and repurposing of an old building in this alley, transforming it into "Ice Sauce Camp." This old building is 43 years old and features a combination of wood and reinforced concrete. The stairs and the second floor are made of wood, and it also has hollowed-out patterned iron windows, exuding the charm of yesteryears. After leasing, a skilled craftsman was invited to renovate it, dismantling wooden doors and iron artistic windows to be used as wall decorations, preserving the ambiance of the past.
