Luoshan Nature Trail Introduction
Located at the edge of mountains and seas, Luoshan Nature Trail is beautifully simple. The trail is approximately 700 meters long and was originally a path frequently used by residents of Hou'ao for oyster gathering and by fishermen. It is carved along the cliffs, with quite steep stairs, and takes about 40 minutes to go back and forth. Along the way, there are two scenic viewpoints, with the endpoint offering a view of the statue of Confucius in the sea. Due to the influence of seasonal winds, the vegetation growth along the trail is limited, yet the rare and protected species of the Matsu area, the Keteleeria (Dawsonia), can be seen everywhere. Years of exposure to the northeast monsoon have created a unique "wind-shear effect," giving the trees an elegant bonsai-like appearance, showcasing rugged and vigorous beauty. Between April and May each year, wild lilies bloom profusely under the trees and alongside the trail, creating a stunning sight. A peculiar rock formation along the coast resembles the revered Confucius, standing silently in the sea, listening to the waves and watching the ocean, which adds a touch of intrigue. The Luoshan Nature Trail serves multiple functions, including exercise, sightseeing, wave watching, and rock fishing. The tranquil beauty of the mountains and the surging sea is right before your eyes, making it worthwhile to experience and savor. Note: The area is subject to strong winds and rugged terrain, so please pay extra attention to your safety.
