Luoshan Nature Trail Introduction
At the crossroads of mountains and sea, Loushan Nature Trail boasts a simple beauty. This 700-meter-long trail, located at the edge of the mountains and sea, was once a path frequently used by residents of Hou'ao for oyster gathering and by fishermen. Carved along the cliffs, the steep steps make the round trip take about 40 minutes. There are two scenic viewpoints along the way, and at the end, one can gaze upon the sea statue of Confucius. Due to the influence of seasonal winds, the vegetation along the trail is limited, but the rare and protected species of Acer oblongum can be seen everywhere. Over the years, the constant northeastern winds from the sea have created a unique “wind-shear effect,” giving the trees a graceful bonsai-like appearance that showcases a rugged and majestic beauty. In April and May, wild lilies bloom abundantly beneath the trees and along the trail, creating a breathtaking sight. Nearby, a peculiar rock formation resembling the Sage Confucius stands silently over the sea, listening to the waves and enjoying the view, which adds to the charm of the area. Loushan Nature Trail is a multifunctional path that combines fitness, sightseeing, wave watching, and fishing. The beauty of the quiet mountains and the surging sea is right in front of you, making it worth experiencing and savoring. Note: Due to strong winds and rugged terrain in this area, please pay attention to your safety.
