Xinshi Station Introduction

The Miaoli section of the Coastal Railway has three wooden train stations from the Japanese colonial period that have been preserved to this day, and Xinpu Station is one of them. The station and railway facilities exude an antiquated and weathered atmosphere, creating a unique travel style that is nostalgic, retro, and slow-paced. Xinpu Station is also the station on the Taiwan Railways Western Line that is closest to the sea. Having been in operation since its opening in 1922, it is nearly a century old. The architectural style and historical value of the wooden station are quite high, and it is still in normal use today. Here, visitors can take a moment to slow down, carefully search for traces of old times in various corners, and admire the beauty of the afternoon sunlight reflecting off the weathered wooden structure, becoming immersed in the aesthetic of light and shadow.
