Xinpu Station Introduction
The Miaoli section of the Coastal Line railway has three wooden train stations from the Japanese occupation era that have been preserved to this day, with Xinpu Station being one of them. The station and railway facilities exude an old, weathered charm, creating a unique travel style that is retro and nostalgic, with a slow pace. Xinpu Station is also the closest station to the sea on the Western Railway Line of Taiwan Railways, having been in operation since 1922 and now approaching a century old. The wooden station's structural style and historical value are quite significant, and it is still in active use today. When visiting here, one should slow down and carefully search for traces of the past in every corner, appreciating the beauty of the afternoon sunlight against the weathered wooden structure, allowing oneself to be immersed in the aesthetic of light and shadow.
