Xinpu Station Introduction
The Hualien Line of the Taiwan Railway in Miaoli has three wooden train stations preserved from the Japanese colonial period, and Xinpu Station is one of them. The station and its railway facilities are filled with an old and weathered atmosphere, creating a unique travel style that is retro, nostalgic, and slow-paced. Xinpu Station is also the closest station to the sea on the Taiwan Railway's Western Line, having been in operation since 1922, making it nearly a century old. The structural style of the wooden station and its historical value are quite significant, and it is still in normal use today. When you arrive here, simply slow down, carefully search for traces of the past in various corners, and appreciate the beauty of afternoon sunlight contrasting with the weathered wooden structures, allowing you to immerse yourself in the aesthetics of light and shadow.
