Tongxiao Shrine Introduction
The Japanese rule ruins ~ A historic Japanese-style building. The Tonshiao Shrine, which has a strong Japanese shrine atmosphere, is located within Hutoriyama Park. It was built in 1937 and currently only the main hall base, haiden ruins, approach, worship hall, torii gate, and shrine office remain. Although the elevation of the mountain is less than 100 meters, the broad view overlooks the streets of Tonshiao, and climbing the long steps along the path is quite charming. The Tonshiao Shrine is located on Hutoriyama in Tonshiao, and over the years, it has weathered heavy storms, leaving its architectural appearance nearly in ruins. Recently, it has been restored by the Miaoli County Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the shrine's appearance is almost exactly as it was originally, even improved. Moreover, on June 19, 2005, the township office held a completion ceremony for "Miaoli County Historical Buildings - Reappearance of the New Appearance of Tonshiao Shrine" in front of the shrine, with a series of lively activities to celebrate.
