Lukang Kinmen Hall Introduction

The Maritime Guardian Temple of Kinmen is a designated historic site in the region, primarily dedicated to the worship of Lord Su Fu Yong Sheng. This wooden temple showcases traditional architectural style, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The history of the Kinmen Temple dates back to its original form as the Kinmen Guild Hall, where it was established to honor the deity from the Wude Temple of Kinmen, thus also referred to as the Wujing Temple. It was built in the 52nd year of the Qianlong reign (1787 AD) and initially was too small to accommodate the needs of the worshippers. Consequently, it underwent an expansion in the 10th year of the Jiaqing reign (1805 AD), which significantly increased its size. The temple has been remodeled several times throughout the years, with a significant renovation occurring in the 88th year of the Republic of China, resulting in its current appearance.
